The USC Trojans (8-3, 2-0 Pac-12), one of the country’s top shooting defenses, welcome the No. 19 Auburn Tigers (9-1) on Sunday. Auburn topped the Georgia State Panthers 72-64 at Neville Arena on Wednesday.
Jaylin Williams led the way with 20 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. USC won their fourth in a row on Wednesday at Galen Center, beating the Long Beach State Beach 88-78. Reese Dixon-Waters had 20 points to lead the team.
The Tigers have been led this season by Wendell Green Jr., who is averaging 13.8 points per game. Green Jr. also has dished 3.8 assists per game. Meanwhile, Johni Broome is grabbing 7.4 rebounds. Boogie Ellis (14.1 ppg) and Drew Peterson (13.9) have been the primary providers of the Trojans’ offense.
Peterson has also put up 6.1 assists, ninth-most in the country, and 7.9 rebounds per game. The Tigers rank as one of the country’s toughest FG% defenses, holding foes to to a 30th-lowest rate of 38.3%.
