The No. 22 North Carolina State Wolfpack (20-6, 10-5 ACC), one of the country’s top scoring teams, head to face the Syracuse Orange (15-10, 8-6 ACC) on Tuesday.
North Carolina State outplayed the Boston College Eagles 92-62 at Silvio O. Conte Forum on Saturday. Jarkel Joiner led the way with 26 points, six rebounds, six assists, and five steals.
The Wolfpack remain fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Syracuse won on Wednesday at Donald L. Tucker Center, beating the Florida State Seminoles 76-67. Joseph Girard III had 26 points and seven rebounds to lead the team. The Orange dropped to ninth in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Syracuse triumphed in the only matchup between the teams last season 89-82 at PNC Arena in February 2022, their fourth straight head-to-head victory.
Jesse Edwards and Cole Swider led the Orange with 19 points apiece, while Girard III added 18 points and 10 assists. Terquavion Smith had 25 points in defeat. The Wolfpack have been led this season by Smith and Joiner, who are averaging 18.5 and 16.2 points per game, respectively. Smith also has dished 4.6 assists per game.
Meanwhile, DJ Burns is grabbing 5.2 rebounds per game. Girard III and Judah Mintz have been the primary providers for the Orange on offense, averaging 17.0 and 15.4 points per game, respectively. Mintz also has doled out 4.5 assists per game.
Edwards has collected 10.2 rebounds per game.The Wolfpack are one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, ranking 30th with 78.9 points per game.
