The No. 18 Alabama Crimson Tide (2-0) are on the road to face the South Alabama Jaguars (1-1) Tuesday at Mitchell Center. Alabama dominated the Liberty Flames 95-59 at Coleman Coliseum on Friday. Mark Sears was the scoring leader with 22 points. Brandon Miller chipped in with 20 points and eight rebounds.
South Alabama dropped their last game on Friday at The Pit, falling to the New Mexico Lobos 80-74. Isaiah Moore had 19 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds in the loss to lead the team.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Alabama got the win in the only game between the teams last season 73-68 at Coleman Coliseum in November 2021. Keon Ellis led the Crimson Tide with 18 points and six rebounds.
Charles Manning Jr. had 23 points and six rebounds in the losing effort. The Crimson Tide have been led early this season by Miller (17.0 ppg), Sears (17.0), and Rylan Griffen (15.0). Miller also has grabbed 10.5 rebounds per game, while Sears has dished 4.5 assists per game.
Moore’s 16.5 points per game have powered the Jaguars on offense. Moore also has recorded 9.0 assists per game, fifth-most in the NCAA. Kevin Samuel has averaged 9.0 rebounds per game.
