The No. 24 San Diego State Aztecs (6-2) will try to slow down one of the NCAA’s top scoring teams when they play host to the Troy Trojans (6-2) on Monday. Troy dropped their last game against the Arkansas Razorbacks 74-61 at Bud Walton Arena on Monday.
Nelson Phillips was the standout player in the losing effort with 22 points and seven rebounds. San Diego State won in dominant fashion on Friday at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl, beating the Occidental Tigers 95-57. Adam Seiko had 20 points, carrying the team.
The Trojans have been led this season by Phillips, who is averaging 14.6 points per game. Meanwhile, Zay Williams is grabbing 6.1 rebounds per game, and Aamer Muhammad is dishing 3.3 assists. Darrion Trammell (11.5 ppg) and Matt Bradley (11.3) have powered the Aztecs on offense.
Nathan Mensah is posting 5.8 rebounds per game, and Lamont Butler is recording 3.4 assists. With 82.9 points per game, the Trojans are one of the top scoring offenses in the NCAA (29th).
