The Auburn Tigers (5-0) will try to overcome one of the NCAA’s top scoring defenses when they travel to face the Northwestern Wildcats (5-0) on Wednesday. Auburn outplayed the Bradley Braves 85-64 at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya yesterday, their fifth consecutive win.
Johni Broome had a standout performance with 14 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks. Northwestern won their fifth in a row yesterday at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, beating the Liberty Flames 66-52. Chase Audige topped the scoresheet with 20 points. With 19 points and seven rebounds, Ty Berry also produced a strong performance.
Wendell Green Jr. is averaging 14.0 points per game to lead the Tigers in scoring early this season. Green Jr. also has dished 4.4 assists per game. Meanwhile, Broome is grabbing 7.2 rebounds.
Boo Buie (14.8 ppg) and Audige (12.6) have been the primary providers of the Wildcats’ offense. Audige also has distributed 5.4 assists per game. Berry has pulled down 6.8 rebounds per game. The Wildcats are one of the stingiest scoring defenses in the NCAA, ranking 12th with 53.4 points per game allowed.
