The No. 25 Arkansas Razorbacks (12-5, 1-4 SEC) will try to slow down one of the NCAA’s top scoring teams when they head to face the Missouri Tigers (13-4, 2-3 SEC) on Wednesday. Arkansas was defeated by the Vanderbilt Commodores 97-84 at Memorial Gym on Saturday, their third loss in a row.
Ricky Council IV had a standout performance in defeat with 24 points. The Razorbacks are 13th in the Southeastern Conference. Missouri came up short on Saturday at Stephen C. O’Connell Center, falling to the Florida Gators 73-64. Kobe Brown had 21 points and five steals in defeat to lead the team.
The Tigers are eighth in the Southeastern Conference.The teams are meeting for the last time this season. Arkansas will be aiming for a season sweep against Missouri after triumphing in the only earlier matchup 74-68 at Bud Walton Arena on January 4, their fifth straight head-to-head victory. Council IV led the Razorbacks with 25 points and seven rebounds.
Sean East II had 13 points in the losing effort. The Razorbacks have been led this season by Council IV, who is averaging 18.3 points per game. Meanwhile, Makhi Mitchell is grabbing 5.8 rebounds per game, and Anthony Black is dishing 3.6 assists. Brown (15.6 ppg) and D’Moi Hodge (14.9) have supplied much of the Tigers’ offense. Brown also has collected 5.6 rebounds per game.
Nick Honor has tallied 3.5 assists per game.The Tigers rank as one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, eighth-best with 84.4 points per game. The Tigers have had the advantage in the Razorbacks’ last 10 trips
