The No. 6 Marquette Golden Eagles (24-6, 16-3 Big East), one of the nation’s top scoring teams, play host to the St. John’s Red Storm (17-13, 7-12 Big East) on Saturday.
St. John’s dropped their last game against the UConn Huskies 95-86 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. With 20 points, AJ Storr was the scoring leader in the losing effort. Posh Alexander added 18 points.
The Red Storm are eighth in the Big East Conference.Marquette won their fifth in a row on Tuesday at Hinkle Fieldhouse, beating the Butler Bulldogs 72-56.

After taking the only earlier season matchup against St. John’s 96-85 at Carnesecca Arena on January 3, Marquette will be seeking a season sweep. Olivier-Maxence Prosper led the Golden Eagles with 29 points and seven rebounds. Joel Soriano had 22 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
The Red Storm have been led this season by Soriano, who is averaging 15.3 points per game. Soriano also has grabbed 11.8 rebounds per game, fourth-most in the country. Meanwhile, Alexander is dishing 4.0 assists.Kam Jones’ 15.0 points per game have powered the Golden Eagles on offense.
