The Jackson State Tigers (0-4) will try to slow down one of the country’s top scoring teams when they are on the road to face the No. 11 Indiana Hoosiers (5-0) on Friday. Jackson State dropped their last game against the Michigan Wolverines 78-68 at Crisler Center on Wednesday, their fourth straight loss.

Gabe Watson was the key player in the losing effort with 19 points and eight rebounds. Indiana won their fifth in a row in impressive fashion on Wednesday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, beating the Little Rock Trojans 87-68. Race Thompson had 20 points and eight rebounds, leading the team.

This is the only meeting of the season between the teams. Indiana earned the win in the only matchup between the teams last season 70-35 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in November 2021. Xavier Johnson led the Hoosiers with 14 points and seven rebounds. Watson had 14 points in defeat.

The Tigers have been led early this season by Ken Evans Jr. and Trace Young, who are averaging 16.5 and 15.0 points per game, respectively. Meanwhile, Romelle Mansel is grabbing 7.8 rebounds per game, and Chase Adams is dishing 3.3 assists.

Trayce Jackson-Davis (16.6 ppg) has powered the Hoosiers on offense. Jackson-Davis also has posted 7.0 rebounds per game. Johnson has tallied 5.0 assists per game. The Hoosiers are one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, ranking 10th with 88.6 points per game.
