The No. 17 Duke Blue Devils (7-2) and Boston College Eagles (5-3) face off at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday to tip off their Atlantic Coast Conference schedules. Boston College was outplayed by the Nebraska Cornhuskers 88-67 at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday.
With 20 points and 11 rebounds, Devin McGlockton had a standout performance in the loss. Duke won their fifth home game in a row on Wednesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium, beating the Ohio State Buckeyes 81-72. Kyle Filipowski had 16 points, carrying the team. It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams.
Duke came out on top in the only matchup between the teams last season 72-61 at Silvio O. Conte Forum on February 12, their sixth straight head-to-head victory. Paolo Banchero led the Blue Devils with 16 points and 14 rebounds. James Karnik had 21 points and nine rebounds in the losing effort.
The Eagles have been led this season by Makai Ashton-Langford and Jaeden Zackery, who are averaging 12.1 and 10.6 points per game, respectively. Ashton-Langford also has dished 2.5 assists per game. Meanwhile, T.J. Bickerstaff is grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game.
Filipowski’s 15.4 points per game have powered the Blue Devils on offense. Filipowski also has collected 9.1 rebounds per game. Jeremy Roach has recorded 3.8 assists per game. The Blue Devils rank as one of the top scoring defenses in the country, 27th-best with 58.7 points per game allowed.
