The Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-2) will try to slow down one of the country’s top scoring teams when they head to face the No. 8 UConn Huskies (8-0) on Thursday. Oklahoma State dismantled the Prairie View A&M Panthers 78-53 at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Sunday, their third consecutive win.

Avery Anderson III was the top scorer with 16 points. Moussa Cisse was another standout performer with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks. UConn won their eighth in a row in impressive fashion on Sunday at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter, beating the Iowa State Cyclones 71-53.

Donovan Clingan had 15 points to top the scoresheet. With 10 points and 13 rebounds, Andre Jackson Jr. also produced a strong performance. The Cowboys took the last meeting between the teams 98-90 at Lahaina Civic Center in November 2016.Anderson III and Bryce Thompson, averaging 12.7 and 11.0 points per game, respectively, are leading the Cowboys in scoring this season.

Anderson III also has dished 3.3 assists per game. Meanwhile, Cisse is grabbing 10.6 rebounds per game. Adama Sanogo (18.5 ppg) has supplied much of the Huskies’ offense. Sanogo also has pulled down 7.0 rebounds per game. Tristen Newton has distributed 4.6 assists per game. With 84.0 points per game, the Huskies are one of the top scoring offenses in the nation (25th).
