The No. 25 UConn Huskies (2-0) host the Buffalo Bulls (1-1) Tuesday at XL Center. Buffalo was blown out by the James Madison Dukes 97-62 at Alumni Arena on Saturday.
With 13 points and six rebounds, Curtis Jones had a standout performance in defeat. UConn won in dominant fashion on Friday at Harry A.
Gampel Pavilion, beating the Boston University Terriers 86-57. Adama Sanogo had 27 points and 15 rebounds, carrying the team. The Huskies earned the win in the last meeting between the teams 79-68 at TD Arena in November 2019.
Brendan Adams led the Huskies with 20 points. Josh Mballa had 15 points in the loss. The Bulls have been led so far this season by Zid Powell and Jones, who are averaging 16.0 and 14.0 points per game, respectively.
Jones also has grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game, while Powell has dished 3.5 assists per game. Sanogo has been the primary provider for the Huskies on offense, averaging 23.0 points per game. Sanogo also has pulled down 10.5 rebounds per game. Hassan Diarra has distributed 6.5 assists per game.
