The No. 24 Duke Blue Devils (13-4, 4-2 ACC), who are among the most stifling defenses in the Atlantic Coast Conference, travel to face the Clemson Tigers (14-3, 6-0 ACC), one of the conference’s best offenses, on Saturday. Duke topped the Pittsburgh Panthers 77-69 at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
Kyle Filipowski had a standout performance with 28 points and 15 rebounds. The Blue Devils slipped to fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson won their sixth in a row on Wednesday at Littlejohn Coliseum, beating the Louisville Cardinals 83-70. Hunter Tyson had 28 points and 11 rebounds, leading the team. The Tigers are first in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Duke won both games between the teams last season, the last of which was an 82-64 triumph at Littlejohn Coliseum in February 2022, their third straight head-to-head victory.
Trevor Keels led the Blue Devils with 25 points and 11 rebounds. PJ Hall had 17 points in defeat. Filipowski is averaging 14.7 points per game to lead the Blue Devils in scoring this season. Filipowski also has grabbed 9.0 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Roach is dishing 2.8 assists.Tyson and Chase Hunter have powered the Tigers on offense, averaging 16.2 and 14.5 points per game, respectively. Tyson also has averaged 10.1 rebounds per game, while Hunter has doled out 4.5 assists per game.
The Blue Devils are the ACC’s second-best team in defensive efficiency, while the Tigers rank third in offensive efficiency. Duke is 7-3 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +3.8 (72.6-68.8). For the season, the Blue Devils are averaging 72.7 points per game, compared to 62.9 for opponents. Clemson has a 9-1 record over the last 10, scoring 78.4 points per game on average while allowing 69.8 (+8.6 margin).
