The No. 10 Marquette Golden Eagles (22-6, 14-3 Big East), one of the nation’s top scoring teams, travel to face the Butler Bulldogs (14-15, 6-12 Big East) on Tuesday. Marquette narrowly defeated the Creighton Bluejays 73-71 at CHI Health Center Omaha on Tuesday, their third win in a row.

With 19 points, Kam Jones was the scoring leader. Oso Ighodaro was another key contributor with 18 points. The Golden Eagles remain first in the Big East Conference.

Butler won a close one on Wednesday at Wintrust Arena, beating the DePaul Blue Demons 59-58. Ali Ali had 15 points, carrying the team. The Bulldogs are ninth in the Big East Conference. This is the last meeting of the season between the teams.

Marquette will be aiming for a season sweep against Butler after earning the win in the only previous game 60-52 at Fiserv Forum on February 4. Tyler Kolek led the Golden Eagles with 13 points and eight assists.

Jayden Taylor had 19 points and seven rebounds in the loss. Jones is averaging 15.0 points per game to lead the Golden Eagles in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Kolek is dishing 7.6 assists per game, third-most in the nation, and Ighodaro is grabbing 6.0 rebounds per game.

Taylor and Simas Lukosius have been the primary providers of the Bulldogs’ offense, averaging 13.1 and 11.4 points per game, respectively. Lukosius also has distributed 2.9 assists per game. Manny Bates has pulled down 4.9 rebounds per game.
