The No. 21 Virginia Tech Hokies (11-1, 1-0 ACC), the top shooting team in the Atlantic Coast Conference, travel to face the Boston College Eagles (6-6, 0-1 ACC) on Wednesday. Virginia Tech dominated the Grambling State Tigers 74-48 at Cassell Coliseum on Saturday, their sixth straight win.
Sean Pedulla was the key player with 21 points and six assists. Boston College got the win on December 13 at Silvio O. Conte Forum, beating the Stonehill Skyhawks 63-56. Jaeden Zackery had 16 points to lead the team in scoring. With 15 points, CJ Penha Jr. also produced a strong performance.
This is the only meeting of the season between the teams. Boston College triumphed in the only matchup between the teams last season 68-63 at Silvio O. Conte Forum on January 22, their third straight head-to-head victory. James Karnik led the Eagles with 26 points and nine rebounds.
Keve Aluma had 21 points and eight rebounds in the loss. The Hokies have been led this season by Pedulla, who is averaging 17.3 points per game. Pedulla also has dished 4.0 assists per game. Meanwhile, Justyn Mutts is grabbing 7.3 rebounds.
Zackery and Penha Jr. have been the primary providers for the Eagles on offense, averaging 11.3 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Zackery also has tallied 2.0 assists per game. T.J. Bickerstaff has collected 7.3 rebounds per game.
