The No. 16 Duke Blue Devils (11-3, 2-1 ACC), one of the nation’s top scoring defenses, travel to face the Boston College Eagles (8-7, 2-2 ACC) on Saturday. Duke dismantled the Florida State Seminoles 86-67 at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday. With 20 points and 12 rebounds, Ryan Young had a standout performance.
The Blue Devils fell to fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Boston College won their third home game in a row on Tuesday at Silvio O. Conte Forum, beating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 70-63. Jaeden Zackery had 18 points to lead the team.
The Eagles remain eighth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. It’s the final meeting of the season between the teams. Duke will be looking for a season sweep against Boston College after taking the only previous game 75-59 at Cameron Indoor Stadium in December 2022, their seventh straight head-to-head victory.
Mark Mitchell led the Blue Devils with 15 points. CJ Penha Jr. had 16 points and seven rebounds in defeat. Kyle Filipowski and Jeremy Roach, averaging 13.8 and 12.5 points per game, respectively, are leading the Blue Devils in scoring this season.
Filipowski also has grabbed 8.6 rebounds per game, while Roach has dished 3.4 assists per game. Zackery and Makai Ashton-Langford have supplied much of the Eagles’ offense, averaging 10.9 and 10.2 points per game, respectively.
Zackery also has distributed 2.1 assists per game. T.J. Bickerstaff has collected 6.7 rebounds per game. The Blue Devils are holding opponents to 60.9 points per game, ranking as one of the toughest scoring defenses in the NCAA (23rd).
In the last 10 games, Duke is 8-2 with an average margin of +8.0 (72.3-64.3). Boston College has split the last 10 (5-5), allowing 67.4 points per game on average while scoring only 63.3 (-4.1 margin).
