The No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs (12-1, 1-0 Big 12), one of the country’s top shooting defenses, travel to face the No. 19 Baylor Bears (10-3, 0-1 Big 12) on Wednesday. TCU defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders 67-61 at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena on Saturday, their 10th consecutive win. Mike Miles Jr. was the key player with 23 points.
Baylor dropped their last game on Saturday at James H. Hilton Coliseum, falling to the Iowa State Cyclones 77-62. Adam Flagler had 20 points in defeat to lead the team.
It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Baylor won both games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 72-62 triumph at Ferrell Center in February 2022, their third straight head-to-head victory. Jeremy Sochan led the Bears with 17 points. Micah Peavy had 16 points and six rebounds in defeat.
The Horned Frogs have been led this season by Miles Jr., who is averaging 14.3 points per game. Meanwhile, Eddie Lampkin Jr. is grabbing 6.8 rebounds per game, and Shahada Wells is dishing 3.2 assists.
Keyonte George (15.6 ppg) and Flagler (13.9) have supplied much of the Bears’ offense. Flagler also has doled out 4.2 assists per game. Flo Thamba has pulled down 5.2 rebounds per game. The Horned Frogs rank as one of the NCAA’s stingiest FG% defenses, holding foes to to a 26th-lowest rate of 38.9%.
TCU is 10-0 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +20.8 (80.2-59.4). Baylor has gone 7-3 over the last 10, scoring 73.2 points per game on average while allowing 67.7 (+5.5 margin).
