The Georgia State Panthers (5-4) will try to overcome one of the country’s top scoring defenses when they travel to face the No. 19 Auburn Tigers (8-1) on Wednesday. Georgia State was dominated by the Northeastern Huskies 66-46 at Matthews Arena on December 4.
With 11 points and eight rebounds, Ja’Heim Hudson had a standout performance in defeat. Auburn fell short on Saturday at State Farm Arena, falling to the Memphis Tigers 82-73. K.D. Johnson and Wendell Green Jr. recorded 14 points each to top the scoresheet in defeat. With 12 points, Chris Moore also impressed.
The Tigers came out on top in the last meeting between the teams 83-65 at Neville Arena in November 2016. Dwon Odom is averaging 16.1 points per game to lead the Panthers in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Hudson is grabbing 8.7 rebounds per game, and Evan Johnson is dishing 3.3 assists.
Green Jr. (13.4 ppg) has been the primary provider for the Tigers on offense. Green Jr. also has recorded 3.9 assists per game. Johni Broome has averaged 7.4 rebounds per game.Holding opponents to 60.7 points per game, the Tigers are one of the stingiest scoring defenses in the nation (29th).
