The Vanderbilt Commodores (10-11, 3-5 SEC) will try to slow down one of the NCAA’s top scoring teams when they head to face the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide (18-3, 8-0 SEC) on Tuesday. Vanderbilt lost to the Texas A&M Aggies 72-66 at Reed Arena on Saturday.
Myles Stute was the key player in defeat with 22 points. The Commodores are ninth in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama lost in blowout fashion on Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center, falling to the Oklahoma Sooners 93-69. Rylan Griffen had 15 points and seven rebounds in defeat, leading the team.
The teams are meeting for the last time this season. Alabama will be looking for a season sweep against Vanderbilt after taking the only earlier matchup 78-66 at Memorial Gym on January 17. Brandon Miller led the Crimson Tide with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrin Lawrence had 20 points in defeat.
The Commodores have been led this season by Liam Robbins (10.7 ppg), Lawrence (10.7), and Stute (10.4). Stute also has grabbed 5.3 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Ezra Manjon is dishing 3.1 assists per game.Miller has supplied much of the Crimson Tide’s offense, averaging 19.0 points per game.
Miller also has posted 8.1 rebounds per game. Jaden Bradley has distributed 3.4 assists per game. The Crimson Tide rank as one of the top scoring offenses in the nation, 14th-best with 82.5 points per game. Vanderbilt is 5-5 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +2.1 (76.4-74.3).
