The No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (25-4, 15-1 SEC), one of the NCAA’s top scoring teams, host the Auburn Tigers (19-10, 9-7 SEC) on Wednesday. Auburn was outplayed by the Kentucky Wildcats 86-54 at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center on Saturday, their fifth loss in a row away from home.
Jaylin Williams was a top performer in defeat with 13 points. The Tigers slipped to sixth in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama won their third in a row in a close one on Saturday at Coleman Coliseum, beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 86-83.
Brandon Miller had 24 points, carrying the team. The Crimson Tide remain first in the Southeastern Conference. The teams are meeting for the last time this season. After taking the only previous season matchup against Auburn 77-69 at Neville Arena on February 11, Alabama will be aiming for a season sweep.
Rylan Griffen led the Crimson Tide with 16 points. Wendell Green Jr. had 24 points in the losing effort.Green Jr. and Johni Broome, averaging 13.8 and 13.6 points per game, respectively, have led the Tigers in scoring this season.
