They have won six out of their last ten games on the season and are now only two games back of the New York Mets for first place in the National League East.

The Philadelphia Phillies will be looking to bounce back after losing the second game of this three game series. They still have an opportunity to win the series here in the finale but they will have to play much better than they did on Tuesday evening if they want to make that happen. They currently have a record of 50-47 through their first 97 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

Austin Riley extended his hitting streak out to 18 games in Tuesday’s 6-3 win for the Atlanta Braves over the Philadelphia Phillies. The win ended a short two-game skid for the defending champs who are still the only team in the league to not have a three-game losing streak. The Braves are also on the chase of the New York Mets for first place in the NL East, so it’s not a good time for an extended losing streak of any kind. 

The series finale is set for Wednesday afternoon as the Braves try to turn their luck around in series finales, which they have lost seven of their last eight. Charlie Morton will be on the mound and has turned his season around, sporting a 2.22 ERA in his last seven starts after a slow beginning to the season. Atlanta got back on track on Tuesday and I think that momentum carries into this game which will be yet another win.

The Kansas City Royals will be looking to bounce back after losing game two of the series to the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday evening. They still have a huge opportunity to win the series here in the finale on Wednesday afternoon. They come into game three of this series with a record of 39-58 through their first 97 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. I have the Los Angeles Angels winning this series.

Tuesday the Los Angeles Angels got a rare win on the road as they shutout the Kansas City Royals in a 6-0 result. This win comes just one day after the Royals shutout the Angels 7-0 in the series opener on Monday. Shohei Ohtani went deep in this game for his 21st home run of the season and suddenly LA has won 2 of 3 after a five-game losing streak. Both of these teams are in fourth place of their division so not a lot is on the line in this series but it will be decided in Wednesday’s game. Janson Junk is a rookie who will be making a spot start for the Angels in the finale and that won’t bode well against a Royals lineup that can put up some runs from time to time. I like Kansas City to have a good day at the plate against him and push across enough runs to get this home win.

The Colorado Rockies will be looking to bounce back after losing a very competitive game one of this two game series. The Rockies are in the middle of an extremely rough season as they come into this game with a record of 44-54 through their first 98 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have lost five out of their last ten games on the year and I have them losing game two of this series as well.

Coors Field is known for allowing big offensive games for both teams in the high altitude but that wasn’t the case for Tuesday’s game between the Colorado Rockies and Chicago White Sox. There were only a total of three runs scored as the White Sox secured the 2-1 road win to push their record back over .500 at 49-48. It’s the third straight win for Chicago who is still within arms length of the division lead (3 games back) and a wild card spot (3.5 games back). 

They’ll go for the sweep of this quick two-game series on Wednesday but Lucas Giolito can not be trusted in this spot. He has given up 5 or more runs in two of his last three starts and now is in a hitter-friendly ballpark which could spell disaster. The Rockies are 7-3 in their last 10 at home so I’m writing off the poor performance Tuesday and backing them to get the win and split this series.

I have the Houston Astros grabbing the win in the finale.

With their win on Tuesday they evened up the series heading into this third game.

It led to them getting a ton of runs and now they will be looking to repeat that here in game three of this series. The Boston Red Sox will be looking to bounce back here in game number three as the series is currently tied at one game a piece. They are coming into this game with a record of 49-49 through their first 98 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Boston currently sits in last place of the American League East division as they trail the New York Yankees by seventeen games at the moment.

Red Sox legend and Hall of Famer David Ortiz was honored before Tuesday’s game and proclaimed himself as the good luck charm to his beloved Sox who are in a massive slump. The well wishes were not received however, as moments later the ball was in play and the Cleveland Guardians raced out to a quick 5-0 lead by the top of the 3rd inning. The five run lead held as Boston fell 8-3 at home for the sixth loss in seven games and it was the loss that finally put them into last place in the AL East. 

The win has Cleveland just 2.5 games back of the Minnesota Twins for first place in the AL Central and we are getting great value on them once again in game three of the series. There is no reason for Boston to be favorites over just about anybody right now, as they have lost 14 of 18 and I will continue to fade them during this slump. Give me the Guardians and Cal Quantrill to go into Fenway Park and get their second consecutive victory.
