Arizona Diamondbacks @ New York Mets – 1:10PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets will be playing game one of a three game series in this one. The Mets come into this one with a record of 5-2 on the season and in first place in the NL East. While the Diamondbacks are 2-4 and in last place in the NL West.

Tony Battalio

It’s been a rough year for the Arizona Diamondbacks so far. As they come into this game with a record of 2-4 on the season. They were projected to be one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball this season and it doesn’t help that they play in a division that includes the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and San Diego Padres. They will be looking to bounce back in this series against the New York Mets. Taking the mound for the Diamondbacks in this one will be Zach Davies who is 0-0 on the year after one start and has a 3.60 Earned Run Average.

The previously mentioned New York Mets have gotten off to a good start this season. As they come into this one with a 5-2 record and in first place in the National League East Division. They come into this one after taking the last two games of the series against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Now they will be looking to win their third straight series to open up the season in this three game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks. As for the result of this game I have the New York Mets picking up the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-230)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Mets will finally play a home game in the new season when they open up a three-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. Both teams were off on Thursday after getting wins on Wednesday. The Mets beat up on their rival Phillies 9-6 while the D-Backs managed a split with the Astros by taking game 2 in extra innings.

This will be the first road game for the Diamondbacks who don’t have a great record but have been pretty competitive in almost every game. However, I don’t think this road spot at Citi Field against Chris Bassett is a good one for them and I see the Mets giving their fans plenty to cheer about on Friday afternoon. Give me the Mets in this one.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-230)

Marko Nadin

The New York Mets have started the season with a 5-2 record which puts them on top of the NL East. This record seems even more impressive with the fact that the Mets played all 7 games so far in the season on the road. They are coming off a 9-6 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. They score 5.02 runs per game which ranks them 6th in the league. Chris Bassit will start for the Mets who is 1-0 for the season. The Mets have won 5 of the last 6 games as home favorites.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are 2-4 for the season. After losing 4 straight games, they defeated Houston Astros 3-2 in the last one. In the first 6 games of the season, Arizona scored only 2.45 runs per game which ranks them second to last in the entire league. They are the worst offensive team in the league when it comes to AVG and OPS. Zach Davis will start his first game for Arizona after arriving from the Chicago Cubs. Last season he was 6-1 with a 5.78 ERA.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-230)

Minnesota Twins @ Boston Red Sox – 2:10PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox will be playing game one of a four-game series in this one. The Twins come into this one with a record of 2-4 on the season and in last place in the AL Central. While the Red Sox are 3-3 and in third place in the AL East.

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins are off to a rough start this season as they find themselves with a record of 2-4 through six games and at the bottom of the American League Central division. The Twins are coming off a rough season last year and have a slow start again this year even after signing Carlos Correa over the off-season. They took the last two games from the Seattle Mariners before getting swept by the Dodgers in a quick two-game series this week. Now they will be looking to bounce back in this one when they hit the road for the first time this season.

The Boston Red Sox are coming into this game in the middle of the pack in the American League East division. As they come into this game sitting dead even at the .500 mark with a record of 3-3 through their first six games of the season. They lost their opening series against the New York Yankees only to bounce back against the Detroit Tigers in their last series. Now they will be at home at Fenway Park for the first time this season. As for the result of this game I have the Boston Red Sox picking up the victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-120)

Jeffery Thomas

The Boston Red Sox will play their home opener on Friday and begin a stretch of 17 consecutive days with a game. The Red Sox are coming off two straight wins and a series victory over the Detroit Tigers. The last time out was a 9-6 win where Boston collected a season-high 12 hits. The Minnesota Twins were swept by the Dodgers in a two-game set and ended up going 2-4 in their opening six games which were all at home.

This total opening up in the double digits is surprising to me given the fact these two teams have been going under quite a bit to start the year. Outside of 1 or 2 spike games for each team the under has been cashing at a great clip and at 10 I’m very comfortable betting this one to stay under that total.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Under 9.5 Runs (-104)

Marko Nadin

The Boston Red Sox are 3-3 for the season and will have their home opener against the Minnesota Twins. The Red Sox are coming off a 9-7 win over the Detroit Tigers. Boston is scoring and allowing 4.42 runs per game so far in the season which ranks them 14th offensively and 21st defensively. They have won 5 of the last 7 games against Minnesota. The Red Sox will start Nick Pivetta who is 0-1 for the season with a 6.35 ERA. Boston has won 8 of the last 11 games as the favorite.

The Minnesota Twins are 2-4 for the season and are coming off a 7-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Twins record 1.5 home runs per game which ranks them 5th in the league but they score only 3.33 runs per game which puts them 26th. They will start Joe Ryan who is 0-1 for the season with a 4.50 ERA. Minnesota has won 4 of the last 5 opening games of a series and 4 of the last 5 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-120)

New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles – 7:05PM ET

The New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles will be playing game one of a three game series in this one. The Yankees come into this one with a record of 3-3 on the season and in fourth place in the AL East. While the Orioles are 1-5 and in last place in the AL East.

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees are one of the top favorites to bring home the American League pennant and the World Series as well. However, they are off to a slow start so far this season as they come into this game with a record of 3-3 on the season after opening the season against Boston and Toronto. The Yankees are the greatest team in the history of Major League Baseball but it’s been several years since they’ve won it all and stood on top of baseball. This year may be the year for the Bronx Bombers.

The Baltimore Orioles have been one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball for the last several years. Some people thought that this season would be the year that their rebuild would finally be on the turn around. However, after a 1-5 starting the 2022 season it doesn’t seem to be going that way for the Orioles. They opened up the season up against the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers and are coming into this one on a two game losing streak. As for the result of this game I have them picking up their third straight loss as I’m going with the New York Yankees in this one.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-210)

Jeffery Thomas

The Baltimore Orioles will play hosts to their division foe New York Yankees on Friday in the opening game of a three-game weekend series. It was an off day for the Os who are off to a 1-5 start to the season, with the lone win coming on Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers. They then lost the next two games and will now try to get their first series win of the year over the Yankees who

Jordan Lyles on the mound for the Baltimore Orioles is only bad news against a Yankees lineup that possesses so much power. It could be a field day for guys like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton while the Baltimore lineup on the other side continues to struggle. I like the Yankees here to pull away early and get the blowout win on the road.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees -1.5 (-120)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees are 4-3 so far in the season and are coming off a 3-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays to split the series in which in three games one of the teams ended up scoreless. The Yankees are sixth in the league allowing 3.21 runs per game on .203 AVG which ranks them seventh. New York has won 5 of the last 8 games against the Orioles. They will start Jordan Montgomery will start for the Yankees who has 8.10 ERA this season. The Yankees have won 5 of their last 7 road games.

The Baltimore Orioles are 1-5 for the season defeating Milwaukee once and losing the remaining games to the Brewers and the Rays. The Orioles are the worst offensive team so far in the season scoring only 2.12 runs per game. They are ranked 16th allowing 4.24 runs per game. Baltimore will start Jordan Lyles who is 0-1 for the season with a 9.00 ERA. Baltimore has 35 of the last 51 home games, 47 of the last 59 games against AL East opponents.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-210)

Cleveland Guardians @ San Francisco Giants – 7:10pm ET

The Cleveland Guardians and San Francisco Giants will be playing game one of a three game series in this one. The Guardians come into this one with a record of 4-2 on the season and in first place in the AL Central. While the Giants are 4-2 and in second place in the NL West.

Tony Battalio

The Cleveland Guardians once again looked dead in the water after the first two games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As they only managed to score one single run after 19 total innings of baseball. However, in the four games since starting out at 0-2, they have won the last four games in a row to split with the Kansas City Royals and sweep the Cincinnati Reds. The bats have been going as well as they’ve piled up 44 runs, and are averaging 11 runs a game over the four game winning streak.

The San Francisco Giants will hit the road for the first time this season as they head to “The Land” as locals like to refer to it as. When the Giants get there and hand the ball to Carlos Rodon they will be facing off against a white hot Cleveland Guardians offense that has been tearing the cover off the baseball. The Giants themselves are 4-2 on the season as well and will be looking to follow up on their league leading season last year with another great year in 2022. However, as for the result of this game I’m taking the Cleveland Guardians to pick up the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (+130)

Jeffery Thomas

The San Francisco Giants travel to Cleveland to take on the Giants on Friday in the opener of a three-game series. The Giants will hand the ball to Carlos Rodon who is a familiar foe to Cleveland from his days on the White Sox. Rodon has 20 career outings against the Guardians (18 starts) and has a 7-5 record with a 2.90 ERA. That includes last year’s no hitter he threw against them in his second start of the season. Now a Giant, he will hope to keep that same magic going while the Guardians will hope the name change will come with answers on how to solve him.

Both teams come into this one 4-2 but I do personally think the Guardians are overachieving a bit. They beat up on a bad Reds team and got some good wins over a bad Royals team so not much stock can be put into their record up to this point. The good start by Cleveland is giving us a decent price here for the Giants who I believe is the much better team and the side that will come out on top.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-154)

Marko Nadin

The San Francisco Giants have started the season with a 4-2 record. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the San Diego padres. The Giants are second in the league allowing only 2.62 runs per game and are ranked third allowing 0.49 home runs per game. They have won 8 of the last 9 games against Cleveland. Carlos Rodon will have his first start of the season and is currently at 1.80 ERA. San Francisco has won 22 of the last 27 games following a day off.

The Cleveland Guardians are 4-2 for the season and are coming off four consecutive wins in which they scored 11 runs per game. They are currently on top of the league averaging 7.64 runs per game for the season. They are also first with .308 AVG and .907 OPS. The Guardians will start Zach Plesac who was 10-6 last season with a 4.67 ERA. Cleveland has won 6 of the last 7 games when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-154)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox – 7:10PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago White Sox will be playing game one of a three game series in this one. The White Sox come into this one with a record of 4-2 on the season and in first place in the AL Central. While the Rays are 4-3 and in second place in the AL East.

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Rays are one of the best teams in baseball this season. Every year they seem to inch closer and closer to finally capturing a World Series victory. They come into this game with a record of 4-3 on the season and in second place in one of the most competitive divisions in baseball. The Rays are coming off of a series loss to the Oakland Athletics where they surprisingly lost three out of four games over the week. Now they will be looking to bounce back against another playoff team in the American League.

The Chicago White Sox are coming into this game with a record of 4-2 and in first place in the American League Central division. The White Sox are in a division that is theirs to lose. So far they have shown that they are the top team in the division as well along with the Cleveland Guardians. As for the result of this game however, I am taking the Tampa Bay Rays to pick up the victory in the opening game of this series.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (+124)

Jeffery Thomas

The Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago White Sox will begin a three-game weekend series on Friday after both suffering Thursday afternoon losses. The Rays lost a 6-3 result to the Oakland Athletics and actually lost three games of four in that series. Their lone win in the series was a comeback extra inning victory but otherwise it was utter domination by the As, who outscored Tampa 23-7 in the other three games. Chicago lost 5-1 to the Seattle Mariners but still won the series and actually were on a four-game winning streak before that setback.

Dylan Cease will take the bump for the White Sox in this one and I was very impressed with what I saw from him in his first start. It was five innings of 2-hit ball and only allowing 1 earned run and he’s finally starting to look like he’s taking that next step to being a bonafide ace pitcher. The Rays are coming in limping, losers of 3 of 4 and will definitely want to get a win here but I just can’t trust them on the road here and a White Sox team that has had good success against the Rays in recent history. I like Cease to have another quality outing and lead his team on to victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (-146)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago White Sox have started the season with a 4-2 record. After winning 4 consecutive games they lost 5-1 to the Seattle Mariners in the last one. The White Sox are the fifth best defensive team in the league so far in the season with 3.19 allowed runs per game and are ranked 9th offensively with 4.86 runs per game. Dylan Cease will start for Chicago who is 1-0 for the season with a 1.80 ERA. The White Sox have won 18 of the last 23 series openers.

The Tampa Bay Rays have started the season with a 4-3 record. They are coming off back-to-back losses to the Oakland Athletics. The Rays are on top of the league defensively when it comes to strikeouts with 11.11. Tonight they will start Drew Rasmussen who has 4.50 ERA this season. Tampa Bay has won 12 of the last 15 Friday games and 20 of the last 28 first games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (-146)
