Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Rangers – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a quality start to the regular season for the Toronto Maple Leafs and they will look to maintain that start with a victory here on Tuesday night against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Toronto has been a legitimate contender over the last several seasons, but they have been unable to reach their ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup. They will be hoping that this year is the year that it finally happens but they will need to remain healthy and consistent throughout the year if they want to accomplish that goal. A victory in this game would be a huge momentum boost for the Toronto Maple Leafs says it would give them a win on the road against one of the top teams in the conference, in of the toughest venues in the league. Toronto comes into this game three games above five .500 through their first 25 games of the regular season and they will look for their 15th victory of the season here on Tuesday night against the New York Rangers.

It has been a fantastic start to the regular season for the New York Rangers and they will look to further add to that start with a victory here on Tuesday night at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs. These two teams are actually in similar situations, as both of them have been legitimate contenders over the last several seasons, but neither of them have brought home a Stanley Cup trophy, or made a deep run in the playoffs. New York comes into this game 12 games above .500 through their first 26 games of the regular season and they will look for their 20th victory of the year here on Tuesday night at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Rangers will have a legitimate chance to be one of the favorites, heading into the playoffs as long as they remain healthy and consistent throughout the regular season. As far as this game against Toronto on Tuesday night is concerned. I also look for the New York Rangers to pick up the win here at home.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NY Rangers (-175)

Detroit Red Wings @ St.Louis Blues – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been an average start to the regular season for the Detroit Red Wings as they come into this game hovering just above .500 through their first 27 games of the season. They will look to go on the road here on Tuesday night and pick up a victory against a struggling St. Louis Blues team as they look for their 15th victory in their first 28 games of the season. Detroit currently finds themselves in fourth place of the Atlantic division coming into this one and they will look to move up the standings for a huge momentum boosting victory on the road in St. Louis. They will need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up around three goals per game this season and that is not sustainable for long-term success. They will also be looking to break a three game losing streak. They are on and get back into the wind column here against St. Louis on Tuesday night.

It has been a weird start to the season for the St. Louis Blues because they are a team that tends to be one of the most competitive teams in the league but now they find themselves with a losing record coming into this game. St. Louis is just below .500 through their first 27 games of the regular season and they will look to get right back to 500 with their 14th victory of the season here on Tuesday night at home against Detroit. They currently find themselves in the lower half of the Central division, and they will look to improve their playoff standings with a victory here in this one against a struggling Detroit team. St. Louis is having similar issues as they will need to improve their play on the defensive end of the ice if they want to find any type of success this season. They also find themselves on a three game losing streak, but I expect them to break that streak with a victory here on Tuesday night against Detroit at home.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

St.Louis Blues (-135)

Philadelphia Flyers @ Nashville Predators – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Philadelphia Flyers come into this game enjoying a somewhat respectable start to the regular season through their first 27 games of the year. They are currently three games above the .500 mark through their first 27 games and they will look for their 16th victory of the season here on Tuesday night on the road in Nashville. They come into this game sitting in second place of the Metropolitan division, and they will be looking to gain ground on the first place Rangers with a quality victory here on Tuesday night on the road against the Nashville Predators. Philadelphia comes into this game with plenty of momentum as they have picked up four victories in a row and they will look for a fifth consecutive win here on Tuesday night. They have picked up three consecutive road victories in their last five games and they will look for a fourth consecutive victory away from home here on Tuesday night in Nashville as well.

The Nashville Predators are coming into this game as one of the few remaining teams to not have a loss in overtime this season. They are off to a decent start to the regular season as well as they have picked up 15 victories through their first 28 games of the year and they will look for their 16th victory of the season here on Tuesday night at home against Philadelphia. They currently find themselves sitting in third place of the Central division, and they will look to move up the standings where they quality performance in this game as they look to put together some consistency throughout the remainder of December. If they want to find any type of long-term success this season they need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up over three goals per game throughout the early part of the year. Unfortunately for Nashville I expect that to be a problem in this game on Tuesday night, as I look for Philadelphia to come into their building and pick up the victory on the road here in this one.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Philadelphia Flyers (+120)

Chicago Blackhawks @ Edmonton Oilers – 10PM ET

Tony Battalio

Despite the emergence of Connor Bedard, there seems to be no end in sight for the rough start to the season the Chicago Blackhawks are currently experiencing. Chicago comes into this game under .500 and they are one of the worst teams in the league throughout the early part of the regular season as well. They come into this game with 18 losses through their first 27 games of the season as they have lost 66% of their games throughout the early part of the year. That is something that has to change rather quickly if they want to remain competitive throughout the season and have an opportunity to grab a wildcard playoff spot in the conference. Chicago is currently sitting in last place of their division coming into this game on Tuesday night north of the border in Edmonton and they will look for a huge momentum boost with a victory here in this one. They have been awful on both ends of the ice and they will need to completely revamp the way they’ve played throughout the early part of the year if they want to be competitive this season.

The Edmonton Oilers had a slow start to the season thanks to an early season injury to Connor McDavid, but they have picked it up over the last couple of weeks. They come into this game to continue building momentum throughout December with a victory on Tuesday night at home against the Chicago Blackhawks. Edmonton is hovering just below 500 through their first 25 games of the regular season and they will look for their 13th victory of the year here on Tuesday night at home against the Chicago Blackhawks. They have been a very tough team to beat at home over the years, and they will look to further prove that narrative to be true with another quality performance here in this one on Tuesday. They currently find themselves on a massive winning streak, and I expect them to add to that winning streak with another comfortable victory here on Tuesday night as I look for them to cover the spread in the process.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Edmonton Oilers -2.5 (+100)

Calgary Flames @ Vegas Golden Knights – 10PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been an unusual start to the regular season for the Calgary Flames as they have been one of the best teams in the league throughout the last several years. However, they currently have a losing record coming into this game, and they will be looking to regroup and pick up a win here in this one against Vegas on the road south of the border here on Tuesday night. It is a much needed victory for the Calgary Flames if they can find the way to get the job done here in this one as they certainly need the momentum boost heading into the rest of December. Calgary comes into this game six games below 500 through their first 28 games of the regular season and they will look to get things back on track with a huge victory here on the road against the defending Stanley Cup champions on Tuesday night. They have been very awful on the defensive end of the ice and that is something that will have to change if they want to maintain any type of success this season.

The defending Stanley Cup champions are not experiencing any type of championship hangover this season, and they are off to a fantastic start to the year. They will look to maintain that solid start to the season with another victory here at home on Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames as they look to further establish themselves as the favorites to win a second consecutive title. Vegas comes into this game with nineteen victories through their first 29 games of the regular season and they will look for their 20th victory of the season here in this one on Tuesday night against Calgary at home. They come into this game with plenty of momentum as they have picked up three consecutive wins and four out of their last five and I look for them to grab a fourth consecutive victory here on Tuesday night at home against the Calgary Flames.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 (+125)
