Anaheim Ducks @ Boston Bruins – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Anaheim Ducks will be looking to pick up a solid victory on the road in Boston against the Bruins here on Thursday night. It has been a less than successful start to the regular season for them as they have dropped four out of their first six games on the season, and they will be looking to pick up their third victory of the year against one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the league here on Thursday on the road. This will be the second and final time these two teams will meet in the regular season, and unless miraculously they meet in the Stanley Cup finals this will be the last time they see each other at all. In the opening game, Anaheim was outclassed by Boston, and now they will be looking to even up the score with a victory here on Thursday.

The Boston Bruins have started off this season with six consecutive victories, and they will be looking to make it seven consecutive victories with their second victory over the Anaheim Ducks here on Thursday night at home. These two teams faced off just four days ago out in Anaheim, and it was all Boston as they picked up a quality victory over the Ducks to grab one of their first six victories of the year to remain undefeated. Boston was able to find the back of the net three times and they limited Anaheim to only a singular goal in that game four days ago and they will be looking to replicate that performance here on Thursday night at home. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Boston Bruins to pick up the victory here in this one for the second time over the Ducks.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Boston Bruins -1.5 (-130)

Minnesota Wild @ Philadelphia Flyers – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Wild will be looking for a quality victory on the road against the Philadelphia Flyers here on Thursday night. It has been a pretty average start of the season for Minnesota and they will be looking to build upon that start and pick up their fourth victory of the season with a quality performance, and they win here on Thursday night in Philadelphia. They will have to clean up their performance on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up an average of nearly 4 1/2 goals per game this season and that is something that will have to change rather quickly if they want to be successful throughout the year. They will be looking to build upon their victory in their last game against Edmonton, and followed up with their second consecutive victory in this game.

The Philadelphia Flyers will be looking to pick up a solid victory at home in this game on Thursday night against Minnesota. These two teams have had identical starts to the season as they both come into this game with three victories to their name, and three losses as well with one of those losses coming in overtime. Philadelphia will be looking to pick up their fourth victory of the season with a quality performance here at home against Minnesota as they look to keep the momentum rolling early on in the season. There has been some close losses for Philadelphia this season as they will look to snap their two game losing streak here in this one and that is exactly what I expect as I look for the Flyers to pick up the victory on Thursday night at home.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Philadelphia Flyers (+105)

Ottawa Senators @ New York Islanders – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Ottawa Senators coming into this game on Thursday night on the road against the New York Islanders looking to pick up their fourth victory of the season. It has been a pretty average start of the year for Ottawa as they have picked up three victories in their first six games of the season and they have left half of their points on the table thus far. That is something that will have to change rather quickly if this team wants to compete for a potential playoff spot this season as they will have to find a way to get games into overtime, even if they end up losing those games as a crucial point could end up making the difference at the end of the year. After a successful, three and one start to the season, Ottawa has dropped their previous two games and they will be looking to break that losing streak here in this one.

It has been a mediocre start of the season for the New York Islanders, and they will be looking to defend their home ice in this game on Thursday night against the Ottawa Senators as they look to Ottawa their third consecutive loss of the year. Through their first five games of the season, New York has only managed to pick up a total of five points and that is something that will have to improve rather quickly if they want to compete for a playoff spot in a very tough Eastern Conference this season. They are currently on a losing streak of their own as they have dropped three consecutive games on the season and they will be looking to snap that streak with a victory here in this one. That is exactly what I expect as I have the New York Islanders picking up the victory at home.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NY Islanders (-125)

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Dallas Stars – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a decent start to the season for Toronto Maple Leafs and the league’s top goalscorer, Auston Matthews. He has excelled at finding the back of the net early on, and he will be looking to build upon his goal scoring numbers, as well as help Toronto pick up another victory on the road against a very tough Dallas Stars team here on Thursday night. Toronto comes into this game having picked up four victories in their first six games of the season and they will be looking to make it five out of seven with a quality win on the road in Dallas here tonight. They come into this game currently riding a two game-winning streak, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here in this one to grab a third consecutive victory.

The Dallas Stars have had a fantastic start to the season as they have picked up a total of nine points out of a maximum of 10 in their first five games of the year. They’re only loss of the season came outside of regulation, and they will be looking to pick up their fifth victory of the year here on Thursday night at home against Toronto. This will be the first of two games between these two teams as they play in separate conferences and do not see each other much, so Dallas will be looking to grab the upper hand with a victory here in this one. Joe Pavelski has been putting the puck in the back of the net himself as he has scored three goals in their first five games of the season. I expect both of these guys to trade goals here on Thursday night, but in the end, I have the Toronto Maple Leafs coming up with the victory.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Toronto Maple Leafs (+105)

New York Rangers @ Edmonton Oilers – 9PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Rangers will be looking to pick up a solid victory on the road against a struggling Edmonton Oilers team here on Thursday night. The New York Rangers are off to a decent start this season as they have picked up four victories and their first six games of the year and they will be looking to make it five victories out of seven games with another quality performance here on Thursday in Canada. They have been consistent and solid on both ends of the ice as they are averaging around three goals per game and only giving up about two goals per game on the season. That is something that will have to continue if they want to grab a victory on the road against Edmonton here in this one.

It has been an absolutely dreadful start to the season for the Edmonton Oilers, and they will be looking to recover, and it starts with grabbing a huge victory at home against the New York Rangers here on Thursday night. Leon Draisaitl is off to a fantastic start this season as he has already totaled 11 points with seven assists and four goals through their first six games of the season as he has really stepped up in the absence of Connor McDavid. That is something that will have to continue for Edmonton if they want to get their season turned around after a dreadful start where they have only picked up three points out of a possible 12 points through their first six games of the season. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening in this one as I look for the New York Rangers to pick up the victory on the road in Edmonton.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NY Rangers (-125)
