Free NHL Picks Today for Saturday, April 10th, 2021
Sat 10th April 2021

We had a great day out yesterday, picking 4/5 on the moneyline with some big parlays in the mix! Saturday is shaping up very nicely with another great selection of games, have a read through for all of our experts NHL picks.

Florida Panthers @ Dallas Stars – 2.00 PM EDT

The Panthers lost their second straight game to the Hurricanes on Thursday, the 3-0 defeat marks their 5th loss to the Canes from 6 games, they are the only team the Panthers have a losing record to this season.

They remained even in the first game statistically, and held a lead for most of the game, eventually losing 5-2 thanks to a sloppy final term which saw them concede 4 goals unanswered.

The second game was similar, with the Panthers attempting more shots than the Canes, but failing to beat Alex Nedeljkovic even once for their 3rd shutout loss of the season.

It was a bad start to their 6 game road trip, they now head to Dallas for 2 games with the Stars who they have beaten in 4 of 5 games this season.

With 3 wins from the last 5 played, the Stars are coming into this one in their best bit of form since their 4 win streak at the start of the season.

Their most recent win was an emphatic 5-1 performance against the Blackhawks away from home on Thursday, making up for their 4-2 defeat to them 2 days earlier.

There were great performances all across the team with Jamie Benn picking up 2 assists, and Blake Comeau scoring 2 goals to bring his season total to 3.

Roope Hintz stole the show with his 4 points though, burying the 1st goal of the game just 10 minutes in on a powerplay, and went on to assist in 3 more.

Detroit Red Wings @ Carolina Hurricanes – 7.00 PM EDT

The Red Wings were swept on their home turf by the streaking Nashville Predators on Thursday, after going to a shootout in a tight first game, the Red Wings came out in the second only to be dismantled 7-1.

Despite attempting a similar amount of shots, and being gifted with 23 penalty minutes against one of the weakest penalty killing teams in the competition, the Red Wings were only able to score a single goal.

They have struggled in powerplay situations this season, and have the league’s second worst conversion rate (11.86%). After a disappointing return to Detroit, the Red Wings hit the road again to face the division leaders, who they have surprisingly fared quite well against this season (2-3).

The Canes are running hot at the minute, and after winning 3 straight home games, scoring 9 goals while conceding just 2 in the process, they will be more than up for this one.

Their most recent win came against the Panthers, 3-0, their 2nd shutout in 3 games, and their league leading 6th overall for the season.

Petr Mrazek and Alex Nedeljkovic have both performed in net, picking up a clean sheet each, and showing the importance of having good goalie depth in the squad.

Vincent Trochek once again haunted his former team, scoring a goal and assist, bringing his point streak to 6 straight games.

Winnipeg Jets @ Montreal Canadiens – 7.00 PM EDT

The Jets and the Canadiens will run it up again today following their game on Thursday, we predicted the underdog win on the Jets in the last game, but this time around the Canadiens will be playing with more than a day’s rest.

The most recent game finished 4-2 to the Jets, they came out swinging with a goal in the opening 30 seconds of the first term only for the Canadiens to pull one back immediately.

Playing in back to back games didn’t hurt the Canadiens ability to attack as they made 38 shots to the Jets 27, but they could only beat Connor Hellebuyck in net on 2 occasions.

With the win the Jets claim their 5th from 7 against the Canadiens this season, the two sit in 3rd and 4th in the North, but the Jets have an extra 8 points on them.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi had a hand in both of the Canadiens, but he was unable to bury a goal of his own from 4 shots on goal.

The goals came from an unlikely source, with Phillip Danault and Paul Byron both bagging their 4th of the season. Jake Allen started in net in place of the usual Carey Price and had a fairly hard time, allowing 3 goals from 26 shots.

Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs – 7.00 PM EDT

The Senators went down to the Oilers over 2 games, losing the most recent on Thursday 3-1 to give them their third straight defeat.

They will be happy to have seen the last of the Oilers for the season, the two sides have played 9 times this year, with the Senators yet to pick up a single point, losing all 9 games in regulation time.

Connor Brown scored the lone goal for the Senators, and they will be disappointed not to have scored more after making 40 shots for the game, almost twice as many as the Oilers attempted.

The Senators now face a single game against the 1st place Maple Leafs, who they have surprisingly fared quite well against this season, with a record of 3-3-1.

The Leafs have been running incredibly hot of late, notching their 5th straight win upon returning to Toronto to face the Canadiens on Wednesday.

It was their 4th win over the Canadiens from 5 games this season, and the scoresheet was an all too familiar sight as Auston Matthews picked up his 28th goal of the season, well on his way to achieving a 40 goal campaign.

Jack Campbell started for a second straight game, making 32 saves from 34 attempts, earning him his 10th straight win this season (10-0-0).

Edmonton Oilers @ Calgary Flames – 10.00 PM EDT

The Oilers completed a clean sweep over the Senators on Thursday, backing up their 4-2 win on Wednesday with a 3-1 win the next day.

It was the 7th win from the last 10 games for the Oilers, the second best form in the division behind the Maple Leafs who sit 5 points above them on the table.

With the win, the Oilers marked the 9th time they have beaten the Senators from 9 games this season, the most dominant head to head record in the league.

In a rare occurrence, the Oilers were outshot almost 2 to 1 by their opponent, luckily Mike Smith was dialled in between the sticks, making 39 saves from a whopping 40 shots from the Senators.

The Oilers wrap up their 4 game road trip with a single match against the Flames today, they are 5-2 from 7 games against the Calgary based team this season.

With just 1 win from their last 9 games no team in the league is running worse than the Flames. They were fairly consistent up until this bad run of form, usually winning 50% of games for the month, but nothing has been going right for them recently, and they now find themselves just 5 points from the bottom of the table.
