Carolina Hurricanes @ Philadelphia Flyers – 7PM ET

It has been a somewhat average start of the season for the Carolina Hurricanes, and they will be looking to get the momentum rolling with a victory here on Monday night on the road in Philadelphia. Carolina comes into this game with five victories in their first nine games of the season and they will be looking to grab victory number six of the year as they hit the double digit mark for games played in the season. Carolina comes into this game sitting in second place of their division, and a victory in this one would help propel them closer to the top of the standings early on in the season. They come into this game coming off of a two game winning streak after back-to-back victories against Seattle and San Jose and they will be looking to make it. Three consecutive wins with another victory here on Monday night on the road in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Flyers will be looking to pick up at home on Monday night against Carolina as they look to get the momentum rolling early on in the season. Philadelphia comes into this game with four victories and four losses on their record, and they will be looking to grab their fifth victory of the season, as well as go above .500 heading into this brand new week. This would be a huge divisional victory for Philadelphia and a good way for them to snap their recent skid, as they come into this game on a one game winning streak, and they have also dropped three out of their last four games as well. Unfortunately for Philadelphia I don’t look for this game to go their way either as I look for Carolina to grab a victory here on Monday night on the road.

Florida Panthers @ Boston Bruins – 7PM ET

The Florida Panthers will be looking for a crucial early-season victory on the road at TD Garden against the Boston Bruins here on Monday night. Florida is off to a relatively slow start this season, which is something that is very uncommon for them and they will be looking to get things turned around heading into the week. They will be taking on one of the better teams in the league here in this one and a victory would provide a solid statement for them and help them grab plenty of momentum as the year continues to progress. Florida comes into this game with four victories to their name on the season and they will be looking to grab their fifth victory of the year here and this one on Monday night.

Only a year after setting the NHL record for the most victories in a single regular season, Boston finds themselves on a solid pace to open up this season as well. They will be looking to tack on another victory in this game at home against the Florida Panthers on Monday night as they look to keep up the hot start to the year and further establish themselves as a Stanley Cup contender throughout the season. Boston comes into this game with only a single loss through their first eight games of the season and at least in their loss they still managed to salvage a point out of it as they lost in overtime to the Anaheim Ducks. I expect them to remain in the winners column with a victory here at home against the Florida Panthers on Monday night as they look to pick up their eighth victory of the season in their ninth game of the year.

Seattle Kraken @ Tampa Bay Lightning – 7PM ET

The newest franchise in the NHL made their playoff debut last season, but they are not getting off to a hot start this season, and a victory in this game would help them gain plenty of needed momentum. They have already played nine games this season, and they’ve only managed to pick up a pair of victories as they find themselves already tumbling back towards the bottom of the standings. Luckily for them they have been able to push a pair of their losses into overtime which is helped them earn a couple of points, but they will need to turn those overtime losses and regulation losses into victories, rather quickly if they want to remain competitive throughout the season. 

Tampa Bay comes into this game looking to protect their home ice on Monday night against the Seattle Kraken. Despite not winning a Stanley Cup over the last two seasons, you cannot say that Tampa Bay isn’t one of the most competitive teams in the league still. They are still in contention to win another Stanley Cup, and further add to their dynasty after winning two consecutive ones a few years ago. It has been a pretty average start to the season for Tampa Bay this year as they find themselves sitting dead even through their first eight games of the season. They will be looking for their fifth victory of the season here on Monday night, and I expect them to get it over the Seattle Kraken as I look for Tampa Bay to get themselves a quality victory to get the momentum rolling.

New York Rangers @ Winnipeg Jets – 7:30PM ET

The New York Rangers will be looking for a quality victory on the road in Canada here on Monday night against the Winnipeg Jets. New York is off to a quality start this season as they have picked six victories, through their first eight games of the year, and they will be looking to grab a seventh victory here on Monday night against the Winnipeg Jets. After breaking out last season, New York seems to be stringing consistency together into this season as well and they will be looking to further establish themselves as a potential Stanley Cup contender throughout the year. The New York Rangers come into this game on a four game winning streak, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling with a fifth consecutive victory here in this one.

The Winnipeg Jets will be looking to put a stop to the New York Rangers momentum with a victory at home here on Monday night. It has been a pretty average start of the season for the Winnipeg Jets as they come into this game with four victories through their first eight games of the year. They will be looking to grab a crucial victory here in this one for their fifth one of the season. They are coming off of a shootout loss on the road to Montreal, and they will be looking to bounce back and get back into the winners column with a victory here at home but they will have to clean up their play on both ends of the ice as they are giving up an average of three goals per game and that is hurting them in close games this season. Unfortunately, for Winnipeg, I don’t see them getting the victory here in this game either as I have the Rangers coming into their building and grabbing the win.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Dallas Stars – 8PM ET

The Columbus Blue Jackets come into this season with plenty of expectations as they are young and hungry to grab wins early on in the year. They will be looking for a solid victory on the road in Dallas here on Monday night as they look to get the momentum rolling on the season. Columbus comes into this game with only three victories through their first eight games of the season but they have managed to pick up two crucial points with their pair of overtime losses. They will be looking for their fourth victory of the season in this huge early season game on the road in Dallas as they look to get the momentum, rolling and get themselves in a position to compete for a playoff spot this year. They will also be looking to snap a three game losing streak in this game on Monday night in Dallas.

The Dallas Stars are off to a decent start this season as they have picked up four victories in their first six games of the year. They will be looking to make it five out of seven with a victory here on Monday night against Columbus. Dallas has one of the toughest areas to play in the entire league and they will be looking to hold through to that narrative with a victory here at home on Monday against a struggling Columbus team. They will also be looking to snap their one game-winning streak after their loss to Toronto and their previous contest. Dallas will be looking to grab their fourth victory in their last five games of the season as well. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Dallas Stars to grab the win in this game over Columbus on Monday night at home.
