Buffalo Sabres @ New York Rangers – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a pretty average start to the regular season for the Buffalo Sabres and they will be looking for an early season statement victory here on Monday night at Madison Square Garden. After several years of being one of the worst franchises in the league, Buffalo is starting to show some progress and what felt like a never ending rebuilding process. They will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in the right direction with a quality performance here on Monday night against the New York Rangers as they look to establish themselves as a potential playoff team in the Eastern Conference this season. They come into this game hovering below the .500 mark with nine victories through their first 23 games of the regular season. They will be looking to break through the double digit win barrier with a quality performance here on Monday night. They have been inefficient on the offensive end of the ice as they are only scoring around two goals per game this season, and that will need to improve if they want to find a way to win more games throughout the year.

The New York Rangers are off to a very hot start to the regular season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Monday night at home against the Buffalo Sabres. The New York Rangers find themselves sitting on top of the Eastern Conference with 15 victories to their name through their first 19 games of the regular season. They will be looking to grab their 16th victory of the season here on Monday night on their home ice at Madison Square Garden as they look to further establish themselves as potential Stanley Cup title favorites this season. They come into this game with plenty of momentum as they have won their last three games in a row, and they have picked up victories in four out of their last five games on the year. I look for them to maintain that momentum with another quality performance here on Monday night as I look for the New York Rangers to pick up the victory over the Buffalo Sabres in this game.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NY Rangers (-225)

Boston Bruins @ Columbus Blue Jackets – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Boston Bruins are off to a solid start to this season and they picked up where they left off at the end of last season, when Boston became the all-time leader for most wins in a single regular season campaign. If they maintain the pace that they are currently on they will be right there at the end of the regular season with a chance to break the record they just broke last year. Boston comes into this game to grab a solid road victory against Columbus, as they look to further establish themselves as the favorites to win the Eastern Conference and the Stanley Cup this season. Boston comes into this game with 14 victories through their first 20 games of the regular season and they will be looking for their 15th win of the year here on Monday night in Columbus against a struggling Blue Jackets team. Boston will be in desperate need of a victory after dropping their previous two games as they look to snap their losing streak and get back on the right track throughout the end of November.

Sometimes it seems as if Columbus is a team that is cursed. No matter who they put on their roster or who they put on their bench to lead this team they still find a way to lose games in the most embarrassing fashion more often than not. They had high expectations coming into the regular season, and they have not lived up to those expectations throughout the early part of the year. They will be looking to rewrite that trend and pick up a quality victory here on Monday night at home against the Boston Bruins as they look to get the train rolling in the right direction throughout the end of November and into the month of December. Columbus comes into this game with 16 losses through their first 22 games of the regular season and they will be looking to grab their seventh victory of the year here in this one against Boston at home. Unfortunately for Columbus I don’t see that happening as I look for the Boston Bruins to pick up the victory as well as cover the spread in the process here on Monday.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Boston Bruins -1.5 (-105)

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Colorado Avalanche – 9PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Lightning still find themselves as a contender in the Eastern Conference, but they are not as tough as they once were. They will be looking to take down the Colorado Avalanche here in this game on Monday night on the road in Denver as they look to grab an early season statement victory against one of the top teams in the league. Tampa Bay is having a rough start to the season as they are hovering right below the .500 mark through their first 21 games of the year and they will be looking to change that with their 11th victory of the season here on Monday night on the road in Denver. It has been an unusual start to the season for a Tampa Bay team that got used to winning Stanley Cup titles and competing for playoff spots as well as making postseason runs throughout the last several seasons. However, they have been building up plenty of momentum as of late as they come into this game as winners of four out of their last five on the season, and they will be looking to make it five out of six with another victory here on Monday.

The Colorado Avalanche off to a fantastic start to the regular season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Monday night at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Colorado will be looking to take down the team that they beat in the Stanley Cup finals a couple of years ago. As they look to further prove their dominance of the Lighting with a victory here in this game on Monday at home. Colorado comes into this game with 14 victories through their first 20 games of the regular season and they will be looking to make it 15 out of 21 with another solid victory here on Monday night. This is a team that has been very tough to beat on their own home ice of the last several seasons, and I will be looking to hold through to that narrative with a dominating performance of Tampa Bay here in this one. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Colorado to take home the victory against Tampa Bay here on Monday night in Denver.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Colorado Avalanche (-145)

Vegas Golden Knights @ Calgary Flames – 9:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The defending Stanley Cup champions are not experiencing any type of championship hangover throughout the early part of the year. They have gotten off to a very solid start to the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that solid start to the season when they trade the desert For the cold weather and head north of the border to play the Calgary Flames here on Monday night. The Vegas Golden Knights come into this game with 14 victories through their first 21 games of the regular season as they have doubled their win total compared to their number of losses throughout the early part of the year. The defending Stanley Cup champions will be looking for their 15th victory of the season as they look to take down the Calgary Flames on the road to open up the final week of November. Vegas will also be looking to snap a one game losing streak after dropping a game to the Arizona Coyotes in their previous contest at home.

The Calgary Flames have been a contender throughout the last several seasons, but they have gotten off to a rather rough start to this season. They will be looking to establish themselves as a contender once again, and grabbing an early season momentum boosting victory here on Monday night over Vegas at home would be a good way to do so. It would provide Calgary with a statement victory to close up the month of November, as they get ready to open up December and improve on their rough start of the year. Calgary comes into this game below the .500 mark through their first 21 games of the season as they have lost 13 out of their first 21 on the year. If Calgary wants to get back on track throughout the month of December, they need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up around three goals per game which is not sustainable for long-term success. Unfortunately for Calgary I don’t look for things to get much better for them in this one as I look for Vegas to come on the road and pick up the victory.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Vegas Golden Knights (-110)

Washington Capitals @ San Jose Sharks – 10:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been an impressive start for the season for the Washington Capitals as they deal with issues both on and off the ice throughout the early part of the year. Washington will be looking to keep things on track when they head out west to face the worst team in the league this season, when they meet the San Jose Sharks here on Monday night. A win in this game for Washington would help them build up a little bit of momentum heading into the end of November. However, a loss in this game would feel embarrassing because not many teams have managed to lose to San Jose throughout the early part of the year. Washington has already crossed the double digit win mark throughout their first 17 games of the regular season and they will be looking for their 11th victory of the year here on Monday night on the road against San Jose. They will be looking to pick up a victory after snapping a winning streak with a loss in their previous game, and they will be looking for their second victory of the season against San Jose in their final game of the season against San Jose.

There is not much to be said about the San Jose Sharks throughout the early part of the regular season. They have been the worst team in the league by far and that is likely not going to change throughout the remainder of the regular season either. This is a team that is still in the very early stages of a rebuilding process and they would likely be there for a while if the beginning of this season is any indication of how the future will go. San Jose comes into this game with 17 losses through their first 21 games of the regular season, and they have hardly been competitive in those losses either which has only made the situation that much worse. I don’t see that changing in this game on Monday night at home against Washington, as I look for San Jose to not only lose this game, but also lose this game by multiple goals. As I look for the Washington Capitals to pick up the victory in this game on Monday night and cover the spread in the process against the San Jose Sharks.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Washington Capitals -1.5 (+120)
