New York Islanders @ Edmonton Oilers – 8:30PM ET

It has been a rough start to the season for the New York Islanders, and they will be looking to get the momentum rolling here on Monday night north of the border in Canada against Edmonton. The New York Islanders have been struggling as of late and they come into this game with a losing record. However, they have been able to force several losses into overtime, which has earned them some much-needed points throughout the early part of the regular season. As the New York Islanders come into this game with eight losses through their first thirteen games of the season and three of those losses have come in overtime so far. They will be looking for a crucial two points here on Monday night on the road against a struggling Edmonton Oilers team as well as they look to get back on track early on in the regular season. 

The Edmonton Oilers came into this season with plenty of expectations, considering they have two of the best players in the league on their roster. However, an early injury to Connor McDavid, and set them behind schedule throughout the early part of the year, and they will be looking to recover throughout the remainder of November. Edmonton comes into this game well under .500 still looking to get back on track early on in the season before the playoff race gets too far away from them. Edmonton comes into this game with double digit losses through their first thirteen games of the season, and they will be looking for a much-needed fourth victory here on Monday night at home against the New York Islanders. Unfortunately for Edmonton I don’t see that happening as I look for the New York Islanders to go on the road to Canada and pick up the victory.

Colorado Avalanche @ Seattle Kraken – 10PM ET

The Colorado Avalanche off to a successful start this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Monday night against Seattle. Colorado comes into this game with a record of 8-5 through their first thirteen games of the 2023-24 National Hockey League season and they will be looking for their ninth victory of the season here on Monday night. However, Colorado needs to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice if they want to find some sustainable success throughout the regular season as they are giving up about three and a half goals per game throughout the early part of the regular season. This will already be the third and final meeting between Colorado and Seattle this season and so far both teams have won a single game so this game will be important for tiebreaker purposes, and Colorado will be looking to come out on the winning side of it here on Monday night on the road. 

The Seattle Kraken will be looking to pick up their second victory over Colorado this season in this game. This one might be a little bit personal for both teams after Seattle knocked Colorado out of the postseason last year when they were the defending Stanley Cup champions. This will be the final game between these teams throughout the regular season, as they have already met twice this season. Both teams have picked up victories away from home this season and Seattle will be looking to defend their home ice, and prevent Colorado from getting their second victory in the building here on Monday night. Seattle is having a relatively rough start to the season so they could use a massive momentum boosting victory like this one here on Monday night at home but they will have to play a pretty solid game against Colorado to accomplish that goal. Unfortunately, I don’t see them picking up their second win over the Avalanche here in this one as I look for Colorado to get the win on Monday night.
