The Senators have lost six of their last eight games, including last time out when they went down to the Blackhawks 3-6.

Ottawa is coming off a 3-6 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. The Senators have won 7 of the last 10 Monday games but have lost 7 of the last 9 home games. They have also lost 9 of the last 13 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals.
The Arizona Coyotes are at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 18-36-4 record. After winning four straight games for the first time this season, the Coyotes lost 2-3 to Boston in their last one. Arizona has won 7 of the last 10 games against Ottawa including a 8-5 earlier this season. The Coyotes have lost 7 of the last 9 Monday games and 19 of the last 26 against Eastern Conference opponents. They have also lost 6 of the last 7 games when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game.

This game features two of the worst teams in the National Hockey League this season. As the Ottawa Senators welcome in the Arizona Coyotes on Monday evening. The Senators come into this game with a record of 21-32-5 through their first 58 games of the season. Compared to the Arizona Coyotes, the Senators look like a playoff team as everything has gone wrong for the Coyotes this season. Ottawa is currently sitting in seventh place in the Atlantic Division and all but officially eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Arizona Coyotes are sitting in the basement of the Central Division and it will likely remain that way for the rest of the 2021-22 season. Arizona comes into this game with a record of 18-36-4 through their first 58 games of the season. They have had issues off of the ice as well as they were nearly locked out of their arena over issues with payment. In their last game, Arizona lost to the Boston Bruins on the road by a score of 2-3. As for the result of this one I have the Senators getting the victory.

The only game on Monday’s NHL slate featured two non-playoff teams but we can still get some excitement here, as we saw some fireworks when these teams met just a little over a week ago. The Coyotes hosted the Senators on March 5 and jumped out to 4-0 before the Sens scored 5 straight over the course of the second and third periods to take a 5-4 lead. The Yotes then responded with 4 straight goals of their own to take the 8-5 victory. Arizona has a 4-1 record in the month of March and are averaging a league-high 5.2 goals per game in the span, while Ottawa has won two of their last three games so we can look past the records of these teams and realize we may still be in store for some great hockey on Monday night!
I love that we are getting plus money on an Arizona Coyotes squad that has been playing some of the best hockey of their season in the past few weeks. Yes they lost in their last game out, snapping a four-game winning streak, but they gave a very good Boston Bruins team everything they could handle, losing 2-3 on a Boston goal with 3 minutes left in the game. Even on the road, I’m going to bank on Arizona to continue giving inspired performances and pulling off this upset.
