It has been a slow start to the regular season for the Arizona Coyotes, and they looked to get some amendment back when they hit the road to play Buffalo here on Monday night. Arizona has been one of the worst teams in the league and have the Buffalo Sabres so this game is kind of interesting when you consider the progress both of these teams have made throughout the early part of the season. Arizona has come a long way in their rebuilding process and they will look to grab a crucial victory here on Monday night on the road as they look to get them momentum rolling on an average start to the regular season. Arizona comes into this game sitting exactly at .500 through their first 26 games of the regular season and they will look to put themselves north of .500 with a victory here on Monday night on the road. They will be looking to gain some much-needed momentum as they come into this game after back-to-back losses to Philadelphia and Boston.

The Buffalo Sabres find themselves in a similar situation as Arizona as they come into this game after an average start to the regular season. Buffalo has also been one of the worst teams in the league over the last several years and they are showing plenty of progress in their rebuilding process. So despite the average start to the year they still have something to build off of. They will be looking for a much-needed momentum boost with a victory here on Monday night at home against Arizona as they look to get things rolling in the right direction throughout the middle of December. Buffalo comes into this game six games below the .500 mark with 11 victories to their first 28 games of the season and they will need to turn things around quickly if they want to remain in the race for the playoffs heading into the new year. Regardless of how they perform throughout the rest of the month, I do look for them to pick up the victory here at home against Arizona on Monday night.

Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Islanders – 7PM ET

The Toronto Maple Leafs are off to a decent start to the regular season, and they will look to maintain that decent start with a victory on the road against the New York Islanders. For the last several years Toronto has been a legitimate contender within the Eastern Conference throughout the regular season. However, they tend to experience the same issues. Every time they get to the post, and as they cannot get out of the first or second round, and that is a narrative that they will be looking to change throughout this season. As long as they can remain healthy and consistent throughout the regular season this is a Toronto Maple Leafs team that could have a legitimate case at making a deep run throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs. They come into this game with 14 victories through their first 24 games of the regular season and they will look to keep the momentum rolling in this game on Monday night on the road against the New York Islanders. 

The New York Islanders are having a rough start to the regular season, and they will be looking to get things going in the right direction here in this game on Monday night at home. A victory here in this game at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs would help them with a huge momentum boost throughout the early part of December and they look to turn things around before flipping the calendar to 2024. The Islanders have been hovering around the .500 mark through their first 26 games of the season as they come into this game with 12 victories. They will look to inch closer to getting back to .500 with a victory in this game on Monday night at home against a solid Toronto Maple Leafs team. New York and Toronto both have plenty of momentum coming into this game, as both teams have won their previous two games and four out of their last five as well. I expect the Toronto Maple Leafs to come on the road and pick up the victory here on Monday night over the New York Islanders.

Detroit Red Wings @ Dallas Stars – 8PM ET

It has been a solid start to the year for the Detroit Red Wings and they will look to maintain that momentum down south in Dallas here on Monday night. Detroit has been stuck in somewhat of a mini rebuilding process throughout the last couple of seasons, and it is starting to show plenty of positive signs throughout the early part of this regular season. Detroit comes into this game two games above 500 through their first 26 games of the season and they look to go on the road and this game and pick up a crucial victory in one of the toughest venues in the league to play. It would be a massive momentum boost for this Detroit Red Wings team early on in the year as it would help them establish themselves as a potential contender in the eastern conference if they can go into Dallas and pick up the win. Detroit comes into this game on a two game losing streak after back-to-back losses to San Jose and Ottawa, and they will be desperate for a win here on Monday night in Dallas.

It has been a quality start to the season for Dallas and they will look to keep the momentum rolling throughout this game on Monday night against Detroit. They have done well at protecting their home ice over the last several seasons, and that is a narrative they will be looking to further prove true with another quality performance here at home tonight against the Detroit Red Wings. Dallas comes into this game four games above the .500 mark through their first 26 games of the regular season and they will look for another victory here on Monday night against a struggling Red Wings team. Dallas will be looking to clean things up after allowing six goals to the defending Stanley Cup champions in their previous game and that is something that is not happening to them often this season. They cannot let that become a trend if they want to remain successful this season. I look for them to bounce back in this one and pick up a victory at home over Detroit here on Monday night.

Calgary Flames @ Colorado Avalanche – 9:30PM ET

The Calgary Flames are having a rough start to the season, which is unusual for a team that has been one of the best teams in the league throughout the last couple of years even without winning a Stanley Cup title. They will look to get things turned around when they head south of the border to Colorado here on Monday night as they look to get back on track throughout the early part of December. Calgary comes into this game five games below 500 to their first 27 games of the regular season and they will desperately look to inch back to .500 throughout the rest of this month. Despite coming into this game with a losing record, they still sit in fourth place of the Pacific division, as the division has been rather lackluster throughout the early part of the regular season outside of Vancouver and Vegas. If Calgary wants to find any type of long-term success this season they need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up nearly four goals per game.

Colorado has had a fantastic start to the regular season and they come into this game sitting in first place of the Central division. They will look to further extend their lead over the division with another quality performance here on Monday night at home against the Calgary Flames. Colorado comes into this game five games above the .500 mark through their first 27 games of the season and they will look for their 17th victory of the year here on Monday night in front of their home fans where they’ve been so tough to beat over the last several years. However, there is an argument to be made that they also need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are also giving up around three goals per game they have just been simply out scoring the majority of their opponents. They have already taken a game from the Calgary Flames earlier on this season and they will look for a second consecutive victory over Calgary here in this one. That is exactly what I expect as I have them grabbing the victory here in this one on Monday night.
