Calgary Flames @ Columbus Blue Jackets – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been an average start of the season for the Calgary Flames as they are pretty even across-the-board through their first four games of the year. They have picked up two victories, and they have a loss in regulation on their record, as well as a loss in overtime on their record to open up the year. They will be looking to build on their current one game winning streak with a victory on the road in Columbus against the Blue Jackets here on Friday night as they look to get the momentum rolling on this brand new season as we are closing in on the end of the second week of the regular season. They will have to be much better on the defensive end of the ice if they want to get the job done in this game.

Columbus comes into this game looking to pick up a crucial victory here on Friday night against Calgary. They’ve had a slow start to the season, despite having plenty of expectations this year, and they will have to get things turned around rather quickly, if they want to remain competitive in a very tough Metropolitan division in the Eastern Conference. Columbus comes into this game with two losses through their first three games of the season and they will be looking to even up their record as well as get a big win at home here on Friday night against the Calgary Flames. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Columbus to pick up the victory in this game over Calgary to grab their second win of the season.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Columbus Blue Jackets (+120)

New Jersey Devils @ New York Islanders – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New Jersey Devils come into this game looking to pick up a solid victory over the New York Islanders on the road here on Friday night. The New Jersey Devils have plenty of expectations coming into this season and they will be looking to get this brand new year off to a solid start here on Friday night on the road on Long Island, as they get an early season statement victory against a fellow Eastern Conference contender. They have picked up one victory, and they have a loss in regulation on their record, as well as a loss in overtime on their record to open up the year. They will be looking to snap their two game losing streak here on Friday night against the Islanders as they look to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice after giving up eight goals over the last two games.

The New York Islanders will be looking to remain undefeated with a victory here on Friday night at home against the New Jersey Devils. The Islanders have picked up two consecutive victories to open up the season, and they will be looking to make it a third straight with another victory here at home against the New Jersey Devils. This will be the third and final game of a three game homestand for the Islanders and they have started the season off on a great note but they will have to be more efficient on the offensive end of the ice as averaging two goals a game likely won’t get the job done for them every night. However, I expect them to pick up the victory in this game on Friday at home against New Jersey to move to 3-0-0 on the season.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NY Islanders (+100)
