Minnesota Wild @ Buffalo Sabres – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

Minnesota comes into this game looking to get a solid early season victory on the road in Buffalo here on Friday evening. It has been a relatively slow start to the season for Minnesota as they come into this game as losers of seven out of their first 13 games on the season with a pair of those losses coming in overtime. They will be looking for their sixth victory of the season here on Friday night against the Buffalo Sabres as they look to get momentum rolling in the right direction as the year continues to fly by. This will be the second game of a back-to-back for Minnesota after facing off with the New York Rangers on Thursday night and they will be looking to end this back-to-back on a positive note with a victory on the road in Buffalo here on Friday evening. Minnesota has been struggling as of late and they will be looking to put that behind them with a quality performance here on Friday night on the road against the Buffalo Sabres as they look to get competitive throughout the early part of the regular season.

Buffalo is one of the few teams that won’t be in action on Thursday night and they get a much-needed day of rest, heading into this game on Friday night at home against Minnesota. It has been a pretty start to the season for the Buffalo Sabres as they come into this game as winners of six out of their first thirteen games of the year. Considering their standards, and the fact that they’ve been one of the worst teams in the league of the last several seasons, this is actually actually a pretty solid start of the year for them, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling with another victory here on Friday night at home against a formidable Minnesota team. They come into this game dealing with plenty of injuries and after splitting a pair of tough road games and they will be looking to get right back into the column here at home on Friday night. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Buffalo Sabres to pick up the victory at home over Minnesota here in this one.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Buffalo Sabres (-115)

Calgary Flames @ Toronto Maple Leafs – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a pretty rough start to the season for the Calgary Flames after coming into the year with so many expectations. They are off to a rough start this season, and they will be looking to turn things around here on Friday night on the road against the Toronto Maple Leafs in what feels like a must win game early on in the season for them. They have been pretty productive on the offensive end of the ice, as they are averaging nearly 3 goals per game, but it is their performance on the defensive end of the ice that has left them on the losing end of several games this season. As they are giving up nearly 4 goals allowed per game and that is something that we need to change rather quickly if they want to turn their season around. They are slowly building up some momentum as they come into this game on a two game winning streak with back-to-back victories over Seattle and Nashville and they will be looking for a third consecutive victory over Toronto here in this game on Friday night.

Toronto is another team that has experienced somewhat of an underwhelming start of the season after getting off to a pretty solid start through their first handful of games. However, after the last week or so, it has been pretty much all downhill for the Toronto Maple Leafs and they will be looking to get back on track with a victory here on Friday night at home against Calgary. Superstar Auston Matthews has been a goal scoring machine throughout the early part of the year, and that he will be looking to keep the momentum rolling and lead Toronto to a victory over a Calgary team that has struggled to keep the puck out of the net. The month of November has not been kind to the Maple Leafs, as they have lost three out of their four games this month and dating back to the end of October they have lost five out of their last six on the season. Luckily for Toronto I do expect them to bounce back here in this one at home and pick up a victory over the Calgary Flames here on Friday night.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Toronto Maple Leafs (-155)

Carolina Hurricanes @ Florida Panthers – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

Carolina comes into this game looking to pick up a solid road victory against the Florida Panthers here on Friday night. Carolina is expected to be one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference this season and going on the road and getting a statement victory over another contender would be a huge momentum boost for the Hurricanes throughout the early part of the regular season. Carolina is off to a pretty solid start this season as they have picked up eight victories through their first 13 games of the year and they will be looking for their ninth victory of the season here on Friday night on the road against the Florida Panthers. Carolina sits in second place of their division at the moment, but they need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up around three goals a game, and that is not sustainable for long-term success. They come into this game as winners of two in a row and four out of their last five and they will be looking to make it three in a row with another victory here tonight.

Florida comes into this game looking to keep the momentum rolling on their decent start to the season with a victory at home over Carolina here on Friday night. Florida comes into this game with seven victories through their first 12 games of the season and one of their five losses came in overtime as well which earned them a crucial point early on in the year. They will be looking for a solid two points here at home on Friday night against an Eastern Conference contender when they hit the ice against the Carolina Hurricanes here in this one. They are coming off of back-to-back victories and overtime but they will need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up three goals per game and that is not sustainable for long-term success this season either. Currently find themselves in a similar situation as Carolina and this game is a bit of a mirror match early on in the season. I expect this to be a competitive and back-and-forth game here on Friday night, but in the end, I think the Florida Panthers will pick up the victory at home over Carolina.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Florida Panthers (+100)

Washington Capitals @ New Jersey Devils – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

Washington comes into this game looking to get their season on track with a huge road victory against New Jersey here on Friday night. They have struggled throughout the early part of the year and they are in desperate need of a massive momentum boosting victory to get them going in the right direction heading into the rest of the month of November. Washington comes into this game with a losing record through their first several games of the season, and they will be looking to bounce back and get into the win column here on Friday night against the New Jersey Devils. They are dealing with a plethora of injuries to some of their key players, and it has been hard for them to recover and make up for what they’ve lost on the ice throughout the early part of the regular season. They come into this game on a one game losing streak after dropping their previous game and overtime and they will be looking to bounce back and grab a victory on the road here on Friday night.

The New Jersey Devils come into this game without their best player on the ice, as Jack Hughes is expected to miss this game on Friday night against Washington at home. That is a huge blow to New Jersey because he has been so incredible throughout the early part of the regular season and now they will be looking for a way to overcome his absence and pick up a victory at home over Washington here in this one. They are off to a pretty respectable start this season as they have picked up seven victories through their first 12 games of the year and they will be looking for their eighth victory of the season here on Friday night in front of their home crowd. The first four games of the month have all been on the road for them and they split those four games so they will be happy to be back at home and they will be looking to snap a one game losing streak with a victory here in this one. That is exactly what I expect because I look for the New Jersey Devils to pick up the victory over Washington here on Friday.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NJ Devils (-185)

San Jose Sharks @ Vegas Golden Knights – 10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The San Jose Sharks have been the worst team in the league so far this season, and it looks like it will continue being that way for the remainder of the regular season. They have gotten off to an absolutely awful start of the year and they cannot get out of the hole. They have put themselves in and they will be looking for a massive momentum boosting victory here on Friday night against the defending Stanley Cup champions. This will be the second game of a back-to-back for the San Jose Sharks after hosting the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night. Now they will be looking to cap off this back to back with a quality victory on the road against Vegas here on Friday night as they try to piece together even the tiniest bit of momentum and get their season heading in the right direction.

The defending Stanley Cup champions are off to a fantastic start this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Friday night at home against the San Jose Sharks. They come into this game with 11 victories and one overtime loss through their first 14 games of the season and they will be looking to pick up their 12th victory of the season here on Friday night at home where they have been very tough to beat throughout the last several years. However, they have struggled as of late after just recently, picking up two consecutive losses against the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. They will be looking to break their short two game losing streak and get back into the win column with a quality performance here on Friday night at home against San Jose. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Vegas to pick up a comfortable victory and cover the spread in the process here on Friday night.
