AFC vs NFC – 3pm ET

The NFL Pro Bowl game is here and the AFC is set to take on the NFC in this one. Both teams are loaded with star-studded talent. This is always one of the most anticipated exhibition games in all of professional sports.

Michael Lantz

The Pro Bowl is the NFL fans last chance to catch some of their favorite players not playing in the big game. Even though many criticize it for being pointless and awarding players who aren’t deserving, the game still gives fans something to look forward to on the Sunday before the Super Bowl.

For the AFC, the team will be anchored by its two big armed quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert. Mahomes will also have two of his favorite targets in this one, as both Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce will be present.  Plus an impressive run game with Jonathan Taylor and Nick Chubb, will give the AFC’s offense even more firepower as they should be able to impress through the air and on the ground. On the defensive side, they have the likes of TJ Watt, Darius Leonard, and Myles Garrett to help control an NFC squad that also has some sleek talent on their side.

The NFC will be led by quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson, who will look to frustrate the AFC’s defense with some dynamic weapons including Deebo Samuel, CeeDee Lamb, and Alvin Kamara. While the AFC may have the more impressive offense on paper, it’d be foolish to overlook this NFC team that also has the likes of Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, and Dalvin Cook on its roster. On defense, they’ll rely on their secondary to make big plays, as they’ll look to Trevon Diggs, Buddha Baker, and Darius Slay to disrupt this impressive AFC receiving core. While both teams should be a lot of fun to watch, I’ll go with the AFC to take this one. They have so many game-changing players on both sides of the ball; even if those guys are only in for the first quarter, I like their depth a bit more than the NFC’s to finish off the game.

Michael’s NFL Pick: AFC (-120)

Mike Su

The Pro Bowl is the least important game of the year and as always will likely lead to huge offensive totals and a little defense. The league’s top players will be out celebrating a successful personal year but sit on the outside looking in as they all missed the Super Bowl. Skill wise the NFC is my heavy favorite as they have offensive firepower for days with Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamra at running back and Mike Evans, Justin Jefferson and Deebo Samuel at receiver. The NFC also have the multi faceted George Kittle at Tight End who is dangerous as he plays full speed regardless of the setting. The only issue with the NFC is the QB situation, as they have Kirk Cousins in the mix. However they have Kyler and Russ to lighten Kirk’s impact.

The AFC have a significantly better quarterback rotation and have a dominant running back room. With Tyreek Hill in at receiver and Mahomes at QB, expect big plays for the AFC. However, much like in the regular season I expect the NFC to clamp down on those big plays. This will be the AFC’s to lose as they are the defending champs winning the last Pro Bowl 38-33. This is almost always overs so that’s always a good bet, but I’m leaning toward the NFC winning the Pro Bowl behind a dominant showing from its skill position players.

Mike’s NFL Pick: NFC (+100)

Tony Battalio

The Pro Bowl is always a hard one to predict as you never know just how much certain players will be on the field. Some players that do play do not even take it seriously enough which makes it that much tougher to predict the outcome. The AFC brings a star-studded lineup into this year’s edition of the game, as the quarterback room alone features Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Lamar Jackson. The running backs room includes Johnathon Taylor and Nick Chubb. Joe Mixon also made the pro bowl but will be replaced by Najee Harris due to the Bengals Super Bowl appearance.

The NFC Quarterback room features Kirk Cousins and Russell Wilson, as well as Kyler Murray. Based on pure talent the AFC is likely to dominate in this game. However, the NFC does have plenty of firepower on both sides of the ball as well. It could very well be a competitive game all the way down to the final ticks on the clock. However in the end I think the AFCs superior talent will grab the upper hand and they will end up picking up the victory in this pro bowl matchup over the NFC.

Tony’s NFL Pick: AFC (-120)
