NBA All-Star Game 2023: Free NBA Picks Today For 3-Point and Slam Dunk Contest
Sat 18th February 2023

Our free NBA picks are out for the always entertaining All-Star weekend in 2023! Before we can get to the actual All-Star Game, we have the 3-point and slam dunk contests to take care of. Who will show off their extraordinary talent, and claim first prize in each of these ever popular contests?

Look below to find our free NBA picks for the 3-point and slam dunk contests!

3-Point Contest

It is stars galore (as to be expected) for the 3-point contest, with the likes of Tyrese Haliburton, Damian Lillard, Lauri Markkanen and Jayson Tatum all competing. It’s a pretty wide open market at the moment as well, so if you can find a winner, you will get a lot of value here!

This year’s NBA three-point contest has all the potential to be the one of the best we’ve seen in a very long time. As some of the biggest stars in the league are competing like Jayson Tatum and Damian Lillard. On top of that we have two very underrated players in the Indiana Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton and the Utah Jazz’s Lauri Markkanen. Tyrese Haliburtons, Indiana teammate Buddy Hield will also be a part of the contest, as well as Kevin Huerter of the Sacramento Kings. Rounding out the field will be the New York Knicks Julius Randle and Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat.

In my opinion, there are three potential winners in this field as Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, and the hometown player, Lauri Markkanen all have a legitimate shot to pick up the victory. However, with this All-Star weekend taking place in Salt Lake City, I have a feeling it’ll be Lauri Markkanen that picks up the win in the three-point contest in front of his home fans. With the way he has been playing this year it just seems destined to happen as he has been an absolute star for the Utah Jazz this season. With his value, this also proves to be a solid betting option as well.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Lauri Markkanen (+650)

Dunk Contest

Talent and flare will be on display in the slam dunk contest for 2023. Many believe it to be the highlight of the All-Star weekend as we get to see some of the top players in the NBA strut their stuff. For the 2023 edition of the dunk contest, we will see the likes of Mac McClung, KJ Martin and Trey Murphy competing.

It is fair to say that this is one of the least anticipated dunk contests of the last 10 or so years. As none of the names listed for this event really pop out at you and say superstar. However, sometimes lineups like these 10 to turn out, solid showings as you go into it with lower expectations and end up being blown away by performances. Taking the floor for this years dunk contest will be, Philadelphia 76ers, and Delaware Blue Coats, Mac McClung, the New Orleans Pelicans Trey Murphy, The New York Knicks Jericho Sims, and KJ Martin, who is the son of former NBA superstar Kenyon Martin.

Any of these four players could potentially come out as the winner in this one. The  longshot surprise in this one obviously has to be G league player Mac McClung, who has yet to appear in a single NBA game this season. However, anyone who has seen him play in high school, college, or the G league will know that he has some insane hops and can put on a highlight reel performance. The likely favorite of this one has to be the son of Kenyon Martin, as KJ has been putting up some ridiculous dunks this season as well. I have to go with the long shot as I’m taking KJ Martin to win the dunk contest

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

KJ Martin (+300)
