The Spurs are 14th in the Western Conference. It’s the first meeting of the season between the teams. San Antonio won two out of three games between the teams last season, including a 104-102 triumph in their last meeting at AT&T Center on March 11. Dejounte Murray led the Spurs with 27 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Donovan Mitchell had 24 points in defeat.
The Jazz have been led this season by Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson, who are averaging 22.8 and 20.1 points per game, respectively. Markkanen also has grabbed 8.1 rebounds per game, while Clarkson has dished 4.5 assists per game.
Johnson and Devin Vassell have supplied much of the Spurs’ offense, averaging 20.9 and 19.4 points per game, respectively. Jakob Poeltl is collecting 9.0 rebounds per game, and Jones is distributing 6.6 assists. The Jazz are one of the highest-scoring offenses in the NBA, ranking fourth with 117.0 points per game.
