The Sacramento Kings (16-12, 8-4 Home), one of the NBA’s top scoring teams, host the Charlotte Hornets (7-23, 3-12 Away) on Monday. Charlotte is playing on back-to-back days after dropping their last game against the Denver Nuggets 119-115 at Ball Arena yesterday, their eighth loss in a row.
LaMelo Ball had a standout performance in the losing effort with 31 points. The Hornets are 15th in the Eastern Conference. Sacramento won on Friday at Little Caesars Arena, beating the Detroit Pistons 122-113.
De’Aaron Fox recorded 24 points to lead the team in scoring. With 23 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists, Domantas Sabonis also had a strong game. The Kings are fifth in the Western Conference.It’s the final meeting of the season between the teams.
After winning the only prior season matchup against Charlotte 115-108 at Spectrum Center on October 31, Sacramento will be aiming for a season sweep. Kevin Huerter led the Kings with 26 points. PJ Washington had 28 points in the loss.
The Hornets have been led this season by Terry Rozier and Kelly Oubre Jr., who are averaging 20.9 and 20.7 points per game, respectively. Both are among the NBA’s top scorers, as Rozier is No. 1 and Oubre Jr. is first. Rozier also has dished 5.5 assists per game, most in the league.
Meanwhile, Mason Plumlee is grabbing 9.5 rebounds per game. Fox’s 22.6 points per game have powered the Kings on offense. He is the No. 1 scorer in the league. Sabonis is recording 11.6 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game, placing him first and first in the NBA, respectively.
With 117.8 points per game, the Kings are one of the top scoring offenses in the NBA (2nd). The Hornets are 4-2 in six trips to Golden 1 Center. Charlotte is looking to avoid a seventh straight road defeat this season.
