The Orlando Magic (5-19, 4-8 Home) will try to overcome one of the league’s top shooting defenses when they host the Milwaukee Bucks (16-6, 5-3 Away) on Monday. Milwaukee topped the Charlotte Hornets 105-96 at Spectrum Center on Saturday. Bobby Portis was a top performer with 20 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. The Bucks are second in the Eastern Conference, two games behind the Boston Celtics.
Orlando dropped their eighth in a row on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena, falling to the Toronto Raptors 121-108. Terrence Ross had 18 points in the loss, carrying the team. The Magic are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference. It’s the first meeting of the season between the teams.
Milwaukee swept all four games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 136-118 triumph at Amway Center in December 2021, their 11th straight head-to-head victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 33 points, while Jrue Holiday was a key contributor with 25 points and seven assists.
Franz Wagner had 20 points in the losing effort. Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.8 points per game, best in the NBA, to lead the Bucks in scoring this season. Antetokounmpo also has grabbed 11.2 rebounds per game, most in the league.
Meanwhile, Holiday is dishing 7.4 assists. Paolo Banchero and Wagner have powered the Magic’s offense, averaging 21.8 and 19.0 points per game, respectively. Banchero leads the NBA in scoring, while Wagner is first. Wagner also has tallied 3.8 assists per game, most in the NBA.
Bol Bol has posted 7.7 rebounds per game. The Bucks rank as one of the stingiest FG% defenses in the league, holding opponents to a second-lowest rate of 44.8%. The Bucks have found tremendous success in recent visits to Amway Center, winning eight of the last 10. Orlando has dropped five in a row at home this season.
