New York swept all three games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 104-102 triumph at Little Caesars Arena on March 27, their eighth straight head-to-head victory. Marvin Bagley III led all players in scoring with 27 points and seven rebounds in defeat. RJ Barrett had 21 points for the Knicks, while Alec Burks contributed 18 points. The Pistons were led last season by Jerami Grant, now with Portland, who averaged 19.2 points per game. Cade Cunningham scored 17.4 per game, making him the top scorer still with the team. Cunningham also dished 5.6 assists per game. Meanwhile, Isaiah Stewart grabbed 8.7 rebounds per game. Randle (20.1 ppg) was the primary provider for the Knicks on offense last season. Randle also filled the stat sheet with 9.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. The Pistons are 4-6 in their last 10 games at Madison Square Garden.
