The Orlando Magic (25-36, 10-20 Away) head to face the New Orleans Pelicans (30-31, 20-10 Home), who will be out to end their losing run, on Monday. Orlando lost to the Indiana Pacers 121-108 at Amway Center on Saturday.
Franz Wagner led the way in the losing effort with 21 points. The Magic are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference. New Orleans dropped their third in a row in blowout fashion on Saturday at Madison Square Garden, falling to the New York Knicks 128-106.
Brandon Ingram recorded 19 points to lead the team in scoring in the loss. With 16 points, Josh Richardson also impressed. The Pelicans are the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
The teams are meeting for the last time this season. Orlando will be aiming for a season sweep against New Orleans after getting the win in the only earlier matchup 123-110 at Amway Center on January 20.
Wagner led the Magic with 30 points and nine assists. CJ McCollum had 23 points and seven assists in the losing effort.Paolo Banchero and Wagner, averaging 19.7 and 19.0 points per game, respectively, have led the Magic in scoring this season.
Banchero also is contributing 6.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.McCollum (21.0 ppg) has supplied much of the Pels’ offense. McCollum also has distributed 5.9 assists per game. Jonas Valanciunas has collected 9.8 rebounds per game.
