The Golden State Warriors (33-30, 26-7 Home), one of the NBA’s top scoring teams, play host to the New Orleans Pelicans (31-32, 11-21 Away) on Friday.
New Orleans topped the Portland Trail Blazers 121-110 at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter on Wednesday. Brandon Ingram had a standout performance with 40 points. The Pelicans are the 10th seed in the Western Conference.
Golden State is playing the second of a back-to-back after winning their fourth in a row in dominant fashion yesterday at Chase Center, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 115-91. Jordan Poole had 34 points, carrying the team.
The Warriors are fifth in the Western Conference. The teams are meeting for the final time this season. After taking both of the earlier season matchups against Golden State, the last of which was a 128-83 victory at Smoothie King Center in November 2022, New Orleans will be aiming for a season sweep.
Ingram led the Pelicans with 34 points. Poole had 26 points in the loss. CJ McCollum is averaging 21.0 points per game to lead the Pels in scoring this season.
McCollum also has dished 5.9 assists per game. Meanwhile, Jonas Valanciunas is grabbing 9.7 rebounds. Klay Thompson (22.0 ppg) and Poole (21.0) have supplied much of the Warriors’ offense.
Kevon Looney is posting 9.0 rebounds per game, and Draymond Green is recording 6.8 assists. The Warriors are one of the highest-scoring offenses in the league, ranking second with 118.3 points per game.
The Pelicans are 1-3 in four games at Chase Center. Golden State is pursuing a sixth consecutive win at home this season. Meanwhile, the Warriors are 6-7 when playing two days in a row this season and 5-7 in such games against rested opponents.
