Los Angeles Lakers @ Detroit Pistons – 7PM ET

It has been a quality start to the regular season for the Los Angeles Lakers and they will be looking to maintain that quality start to the season with a comfortable victory over the Detroit Pistons here on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Lakers come into this season with plenty of expectations and as long as they remain healthy and consistent throughout the year, they should live up to those expectations. They are arguably one of the favorites in the Western Conference to win the NBA championship this season, but they will have to overcome injury issues as both LeBron and Anthony Davis have already missed time throughout the early part of the year thanks to several injuries. The Los Angeles Lakers come into this game with 10 victories through their first 18 games of the season and they will be looking for their 11th one of the year here on Wednesday night in Detroit.

The Detroit Pistons are off to an absolutely awful start to the regular season and it seems as if their rebuild is still several years away from being complete. A lengthy losing streak has left them at the bottom of the standings in the league, and they will be looking to overcome those losses and get things rolling in the right direction with a victory here on Wednesday night against the Lakers. However, Detroit comes into this game with no momentum at all after that lengthy losing streak and they are still looking to recover so they will need to play a near perfect game of basketball if they want to get the job done here in this one on Wednesday night at home. Detroit has lost their last 14 games in a row and I don’t see things getting much better for them in this one as I look for the Lakers to not only pick up the victory, but cover the spread on the road.

Washington Wizards @ Orlando Magic – 7PM ET

Washington has been one of the worst teams in the league throughout the early part of the regular season, and they are recently coming off of a lengthy losing streak that has put them at the bottom of the standings. You could argue that the only reason they broke that losing streak is because they played against the Detroit Pistons who found themselves on a similar losing streak and are still on it heading into the end of November. Washington will be looking to string together some victories, and it starts with the recording quality performance here on Wednesday night on the road against the Orlando Magic. So far the addition of Jordan Poole and pairing him with Kyle Kuzma has not worked out for the Washington Wizards, and they will be looking to find a solution throughout the remainder of the season but at the moment things are going south rather quickly. 

The Orlando Magic are experiencing a quality start to the regular season, and they will be looking to maintain that start with a victory here on Wednesday night at home against the Washington Wizards. Orlando is a team that is very young and hungry and it is paying off as they have found the right mix of veterans and young players to lead this team throughout the regular season. They are hot at the moment as they have won their last seven games in a row and ate out of their last 10 as well, and they find themselves in third place of the Eastern Conference coming into this game on Wednesday night. Orlando comes into this game with 12 victories through their first 17 games of the regular season and they will be looking for their eighth consecutive victory on the year here on Wednesday night against Washington. Not only do I look for them to pick up the victory in this game at home but I look for them to cover the spread as well against the Wizards.

Utah Jazz @ Memphis Grizzlies – 8PM ET

Utah came into the regular season with plenty of expectations, but they have not lived up to those expectations throughout the early part of the year. They will be looking to get things rolling in the right direction with a quality performance on the road against Memphis, who have struggled throughout the early part of the year themselves. Utah had expectations of being a competitive team within the Western Conference this season. However, unless something changes rather quickly, that seems unlikely to be the case with the way they have played throughout the first month of the year. Utah comes into this game as losers of 11 out of their first 17 games of the regular season and they will be looking to get things going in the right direction with a quality performance here on Wednesday night on the road in Memphis. They will have several key players missing in this game, but they do have a little bit of momentum coming into this one as they find themselves on a two game winning streak.

The Memphis Grizzlies are having a tough time adjusting to life without Ja Morant, throughout the early part of this NBA season. The early part of the season is any indication how the remainder of his suspension will go then Memphis will be well out of playoff contention by the time he returns to the lineup next year. They have completely lost without their superstar guard in the lineup, and they have a couple players who have stepped up to fill the void, but they haven’t done enough to help lead this team to wins. They will be looking to grab a huge victory at home against Utah here on Wednesday night to get things rolling in the right direction as they come into this game as one of the worst teams in the NBA throughout the early part of the year. Memphis comes into this game as losers of 13 out of their first 16 on the season and I don’t see things getting much better for them either. As I look for them to drop this game to Utah here on Wednesday night at home as well.

Philadelphia 76ers @ New Orleans Pelicans – 8PM ET

The Philadelphia 76ers are enjoying an incredible start to the regular season, and they will be looking to maintain that start to the regular season with a quality performance here on Wednesday night in New Orleans. They have been one of the top teams in the league throughout the first month of the season. Now they will look to continue stringing victories together despite all the off the court criticism and drama that was surrounding them prior to the season starting and throughout the early part of the year as well. Philadelphia has arguably been a better team without James Harden on the roster and they will be looking to maintain that narrative with another quality performance here in New Orleans on Wednesday night. As they look to pick up a victory over one of the better teams in the Western Conference this season. Philadelphia comes into this game as winners of 12 out of their first 17 on the year and they will be looking for their 13th victory of the season here on Wednesday. 

It has been a roller coaster of a start to the season for the New Orleans Pelicans as several key players have missed time due to injury. This is a New Orleans team that would be one of the best teams in the league if they could remain healthy and consistent throughout the regular season, which is something they have struggled with throughout the early part of the year. They come into this game at the .500 mark through their first 18 games of the regular season and they will be looking to break the double digit win barrier with a quality performance here on Wednesday night at home. New Orleans will need to look to get things back on track after back-to-back losses to Utah and their previous two games as they look to take down one of the top teams in the league here on Wednesday at home. Unfortunately for New Orleans, I don’t see that happening as I look for the Philadelphia 76ers to come into their building and pick up the victory. 

Houston Rockets @ Denver Nuggets – 9PM ET

The Houston Rockets are off to a quality start to the season and they will be looking to maintain that quality start with a victory over the defending NBA champions here on Wednesday night in Denver. Houston has been one of the worst teams in the league the past couple of years, but they have finally found the right mix of veterans and young players to lead this team into the future. It is paying off for the Houston Rockets throughout the early part of the season, and they will be looking to keep the minimum rolling here in this one against Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets. Houston has picked up eight victories throughout their first 15 games of the regular season as they come into this game right above .500 and they will be looking for their ninth victory of the season here on Wednesday night. This will be the second game of their road trip, and they will be looking to bounce back after losing to Dallas in their previous contest.

The defending NBA champions have not experienced any type of championship hangover throughout the early part of the regular season. They come into this game as winners of 12 out of their first 18 games on the year and they will be looking to make it 13 out of 19 with another quality performance here on Wednesday night against the Houston Rockets. Jokić is playing like a man possessed as he comes into this game nearly averaging a triple double on the season, and he looks like he is getting back to his most valuable player award-winning form. If he continues to maintain that pace of play throughout the year, he will likely win his third most valuable player award in the last four seasons, and that will likely lead to results for the Denver Nuggets as well. The Denver Nuggets will be looking to record another victory here on Wednesday night at home against the Houston Rockets and that is exactly what I expected of the Nuggets as I have them picking up the victory here in this one.
