Portland Trail Blazers @ Cleveland Cavaliers – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

Portland is having trouble moving on from the Damian Lillard era and it shows with their rough start to the regular season. They lack a true game, changing player with the ability to close out games in the clutch and that is something that they had for years with Damian Lillard on the roster. Those types of players are hard to replace, and they are seeing that come to light as they have blown several leads late in the game throughout the early part of the regular season. They come into this game on Thursday night in Cleveland looking to get a huge victory to get momentum rolling in the right direction throughout the month of December but they will need to play a very solid and efficient game of basketball to get the job done in one of the toughest venues in the league. Portland comes into this game on Thursday night with a record of 5-12 through their first 17 games of the regular season. They have a little bit of momentum coming into this one after beating the Indiana Pacers in their previous contest.

It has been an up-and-down start to the season for the Cleveland Cavaliers and they will be looking to grab a solid victory here at home on Thursday night to get things going in the right direction heading into December. Cleveland is a team that came into the year with plenty of expectations after their solid regular season last year and so far they have not exactly lived up to those expectations throughout the first month of the season. They will be looking to change things and it starts with grabbing a victory over Portland here on Thursday night at home as they look to flex their muscles on their home floor and pick up a comfortable victory over a struggling Trail Blazers team. Cleveland has already picked up one blowout victory over Portland this season and I expect them to get a second one here on Thursday night at home as I look for the Cavs to pick up the win in this game. Along with the victory I also look for the Cleveland Cavaliers to cover the spread here in this one as well.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Cleveland Cavs -11.5 (-110)

Charlotte Hornets @ Brooklyn Nets – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a rough start to the season for the Charlotte Hornets, because of the inconsistent play of their superstar point guard LaMelo Ball. He has had rough shooting performances throughout the early part of the year that has left them on the wrong side of games, and he will be looking to turn things around as well as help the team turn things around throughout the month of December. It starts picking up a victory in this game on Thursday night on the road against the Brooklyn Nets at Charlotte looks to get some momentum rolling in the right direction heading into the final month of this calendar year. Charlotte comes into this game with 11 losses through their first 16 games of the season and they will be looking for their sixth victory of the year here on Thursday night in Brooklyn. Charlotte will be looking to snap a two game losing streak in this game after dropping back-to-back games to the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic.

The Brooklyn Nets aren’t having the best start of the season either and they will be looking for a huge momentum boosting victory here on Thursday night at home against the Charlotte Hornets. Brooklyn comes into this game with nine victories, their first 17 games of the regular season and they will be looking to break through the double digit win barrier with a victory here in this one on Thursday night at home. Brooklyn is caught in the middle between being a competitive team in the eastern conference and a team on the verge of a rebuilding process, and they will be looking to flesh out where they stand throughout the regular season. Brooklyn did pick up a victory on the road against Charlotte already this season, and they will be looking for a second consecutive victory against the Hornets here on Thursday night. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Brooklyn Nets to pick up the victory at home in this game.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Brooklyn Nets -8.5 (-105)

Detroit Pistons @ New York Knicks – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been an awful start to the regular season for the Detroit Pistons and if the beginning of this year is any indication of how their rebuilding process will go, then they are still a very long way away from being a competitive team in the league once again. Detroit comes into this game with one of the worst records in the NBA throughout the first month of the regular season, and they will be looking to get momentum rolling in the right direction with a victory here on Thursday night in Madison Square Garden. They come into this game with 16 losses through their first 18 games of the regular season and they will be looking to pick up their third victory of the season here on Thursday night on the road in the big apple. They are too young of a team to be competitive, and they have yet to learn how to finish games throughout the early part of the regular season. That is why they come into this game on a double digit win streak that they’ve been unable to break for the last three weeks.

It has been an up-and-down stage of the regular season for the New York Knicks, and they will be looking to pick up a victory here on Thursday night at home against one of the worst teams in the league. The New York Knicks come into this game with 10 victories through their first 17 games of the season and they are one of the teams that came into the year with very high expectations as well. So far it is too early to tell if they will live up to those expectations through their first 17 games but they will be looking to pick up their 11th victory of the season here on Thursday night against the Detroit Pistons at home. The New York Knicks come into this game with a little bit of momentum after picking up a victory over the Charlotte Hornets and their previous contest. Not only do I look for them to pick up a second consecutive victory in this game on Thursday, but I also look for them to cover the spread against the Detroit Pistons as well. Detroit has been less than competitive in the majority of their games throughout this losing streak.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

NY Knicks -13.5 (-110)

Utah Jazz @ Minnesota Timberwolves – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Utah Jazz are having a rough start to the regular season and they come into this game looking to pick up a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves here on Thursday night on the road in Minnesota. Utah came into this season with expectations of being a playoff team in the Western Conference but if the early part of the year is any indication on how they will perform, they will likely find themselves missing out on the postseason by a couple games. They will be looking to get things going in the right direction with a huge victory on the road against one of the top teams in the western conference here on Thursday night as they look to take down the Minnesota Timberwolves. Utah comes into this game as losers of 12 out of their first 18 games on the season and they will be looking to grab their seventh victory of the year here on Thursday night on the road in Minnesota. They do have a little bit of momentum coming into this game after back-to-back victories over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are off to a fast start this season, and they will be looking to maintain that fast start with a quality performance on Thursday night at home against Utah. Minnesota has established themselves as one of the top teams in the Western Conference throughout the early early part of the regular season, and they will be looking to further prove that narrative to be true with another quality performance here in this one. Anthony Edwards has been incredible for Minnesota. Throughout the early part of the season as well and his play is part of the reason the Timberwolves find themselves on top of the Western Conference coming into this game. Minnesota comes into this game with 13 victories through their first 17 games of the regular season and I expect them to pick up their 14th victory with a quality performance here on Thursday night at home against the Jazz. As I look for Minnesota to pick up the win and cover the spread in the process here in this one.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Minnesota Timberwolves -10.5 (-115)

Atlanta Hawks @ San Antonio Spurs – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been an up-and-down start to the season for the Atlanta Hawks, and they will be looking to put together a quality performance in this game on Thursday night in San Antonio. It would be a solid victory away from home for the Atlanta Hawks as they look to continue climbing up the Eastern Conference standings throughout the early part of the regular season. The Atlanta Hawks come into this game with eight victories through their first 17 games of the season and they will be looking to get back to .500 as well as grab their ninth victory of the season here on Thursday night in San Antonio. They have been inconsistent at certain times throughout the season as Trae Young has missed time with injuries, but when he is in the lineup, this Atlanta team has the best chance to win any night against any team, regardless of where the game is taking place. Atlanta comes into this game looking to snap a two game losing streak as they look to get back into the win column here on Thursday.

The San Antonio Spurs have been rough throughout the early part of the season, but that was to be expected considering how young their roster is. However, many people thought they’d be a little bit more competitive, with the addition of Victor Wembanyama, but he has had to do too much by himself throughout the early part of the season, and it has left him on an island at times. They have had horrible play from their guards and if that doesn’t improve quickly then San Antonio is in for a very long regular season. They come into this game as losers of 14 out of their first 17 games on the season and they will be looking for their fourth victory of the year here on Thursday night at home against the Atlanta Hawks. San Antonio currently finds themselves on a 12 game losing streak and they will be looking to break that losing streak with a solid performance here on Thursday night at home. Unfortunately for them I don’t see that happening as I look for the Atlanta Hawks to pick up the victory here in this game.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Atlanta Hawks -7.5 (-110)
