Toronto Raptors @ Philadelphia 76ers – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a somewhat slow start to the season for the Toronto Raptors, and they will be looking to gain some much-needed momentum here on Thursday night on the road in Philadelphia. After being a major player in the Eastern Conference for several seasons, Toronto has taken a step back over the last couple of years, and they will be looking to get back to being contenders for the NBA title, with some quality performances throughout the regular season. This will be the second game of a back-to-back for the Toronto Raptors after facing off with the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night and now they will continue their road trip here in Philadelphia on Thursday night hoping to grab a victory, to stop themselves from having a poor start to the season.

The Philadelphia 76ers come into this game against Toronto on Thursday night looking to get out of their own slump and get the momentum rolling early on this season. They have recently traded away James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers, and they will be looking for a solution to fix team chemistry after the pairing of him and Embiid just didn’t work out quite well. Philadelphia is expected to be one of the top contenders in the conference this season and they will have to start stringing some victories together if they want to live up to that narrative early on in the season. Philadelphia comes into this game with two victories and their first three games of the year and I expect them to make it three out of four with another quality performance here on Thursday at home.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Philadelphia 76ers -8.5 (-120)

Detroit Pistons @ New Orleans Pelicans – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Pistons come into this game looking to get a quality early season victory on the road in New Orleans here on Thursday night. It has been a pretty average start to the season for the Detroit Pistons as they are still young and they will grow with time and learn how to win games throughout the regular season with consistency. They come into this game with two victories through their first four games of the season and they will be looking to grab their third victory of the season here on Thursday night on the road in New Orleans against one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Detroit will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Oklahoma City in their previous game and grab a road victory here on Thursday night as well.

It has been a decent start to the season for New Orleans as they come into this game looking to further add to the win column and pick up another victory on the young season here on Thursday night. This will be their second game of a back to back after playing Oklahoma City at home on Wednesday night, and they will be looking to grab a victory at home here on Thursday night against an equally as young and hungry team, the Detroit Pistons. New Orleans is off to respectable start this season and they will be looking to grab another victory here on Thursday night against Detroit at home as CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson looked to make up for the potential absence of Brandon, and lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a victory. That is exactly what I expect, as I look for the Pelicans to grab the win here and this one on Thursday night.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

NO Pelicans

Orlando Magic @ Utah Jazz – 9PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Orlando Magic are nearing the end of a long rebuilding process and they have a roster that is full of young players that have the potential to break out and turn them into a playoff contending team. They will be looking for a solid victory on the road here against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night as they look to grab a win in one of the toughest environments to play in the NBA. Orlando is one of the few teams in the league that was in action on Wednesday night so they have the rest advantage coming into this game against Utah on Thursday night, and they will be looking to take advantage of that and pick up a crucial Road victory early on in the year. They still have to play near perfect basketball if they want to get a victory over one of the top teams in the Western Conference here on Thursday on the road in their building.

Utah comes into this game after hitting the court on Wednesday night so they will be at a bit of a disadvantage rest wise coming into this one against Orlando on Thursday night at home. They will be looking to overcome that disadvantage and grab a solid victory early on in the year in their home arena as they look to build up momentum as the season continues to progress. It has been a pretty rough start to the season for Utah after coming into the year with plenty of expectations of being a legitimate championship contender within the Western Conference and they will be looking to get the ball rolling with a crucial victory here in this game against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night. Luckily for Utah that is exactly what I expect as I look for them to pick up the victory in this game on Thursday.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Utah Jazz (-120)

San Antonio Spurs @ Phoenix Suns – 10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The San Antonio Spurs stole a victory away from the Phoenix Suns and their previous matchup and now they will meet for the second consecutive game, and San Antonio will be looking to make it two for two against Phoenix here on Thursday night. It was an incredible effort to come back by San Antonio, and they will be looking to use the momentum from that victory to parlay into another victory and grab their second consecutive victory over the Phoenix Suns here on Thursday night on the road in Phoenix. San Antonio has split their first four games of the season as they come into this game with two victories to their name and they will be looking to pick up a third victory here on Thursday night and one of the toughest areas to play in the NBA against one of the toughest teams in the NBA as well.

The Phoenix Suns will be looking to bounce back from their loss to the San Antonio Spurs and their previous game. Phoenix had a three-point lead with under 15 seconds remaining in the game and somehow they allowed San Antonio to get back into it and pick up the victory after a chaotic sequence, following Victor Wembanyama’s putback dunk to put them down by one with about eight second remaining. Now the Phoenix Suns will be looking to recover in this game on Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs and return the favor and pick up a much-needed victory at home. At the moment, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal both game time decisions wish I could end up being all Kevin Durant in this game for Phoenix. However, I still expect Phoenix to return the favor and grab the victory at home over San Antonio on Thursday night.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Phoenix Suns -7.5 (-115)
