Dallas Mavericks @ New Orleans Pelicans – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Dallas Mavericks are off to a pretty solid start this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Sunday night on the road against New Orleans. Dallas comes into this game with seven victories through their first nine games of the season and they will be looking for their eighth victory of the year here and this one against another top team in the Western Conference. They come into this game after blowing out the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night after an incredible performance from Luka Dončić, and they will be looking to grab their second consecutive victory of the season here on Sunday night on the road. This will be the first of four matchups between these two teams and the first of one in the next two days as they will also face off later on this week on Tuesday night. So Dallas will be looking to get off on the right foot and pick up the victory over New Orleans here in this one on the road.

The New Orleans Pelicans came into this year with plenty of expectations, but injuries are already starting to catch up to them throughout the early part of the regular season. Brandon Ingram has missed time and CJ. McCollum is expected to miss a decent chunk of time as well and the team will be looking to get the job done without him in this game on Sunday afternoon at home against Dallas. They come into this game with a losing record through their first nine games of the season and they will be looking for their fifth victory of the season here on Sunday night as they look to get back to .500 heading into the week. If New Orleans can get healthy and consistent throughout the regular season, they have a chance to be a legitimate threat within the conference, but they will have to win some early season matchups like this to put themselves in that position. Unfortunately I look for the injuries to be too much to overcome for New Orleans in this game despite being at home and I look for Dallas to pick up the win here on Sunday.

Miami Heat @ San Antonio Spurs – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Miami Heat came into the year with so many expectations, but they have been sluggish throughout the early part of the season after missing several key pieces from last year’s roster. They will be looking to turn things around against a young San Antonio Spurs roster here on Sunday night on the road in San Antonio, as Miami looks to get things rolling in the right direction. They have been one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference for the last several seasons, and they will be looking to get back to that with a quality victory here in this one to give them a huge momentum boost early on in the season. Miami comes into this game as winners of five out of their first nine games on the season and they will be looking for their fifth victory of the season here on Sunday night on the road in San Antonio. They have been building up some momentum as they currently find themselves on a four game-winning streak, but injuries may be catching up to them as they will likely be without Tyler Herro, and potentially Jimmy Butler in this game as well.

The San Antonio Spurs come into this year still stuck in the middle of a rebuilding process, but they have shown plenty of progress throughout the last 12 months with the addition of Victor Wembanyama. His career is off to a solid start and he will be looking to help lead San Antonio to a quality victory here on Sunday night at home against the Miami Heat. San Antonio comes into this game as losers of six out of their first nine games on the season and they will be desperate to pick up a victory and grab their fourth win of the year here on Sunday night in front of their home fans. They will be relatively healthy for this game, which puts them in a good position to break their current four-game losing streak that they find themselves on as they look to get back into the win column and get back on track throughout the early part of the regular season. With all the injuries that Miami is dealing with coming into this game, I look for this game to be closer than people might have expected and I look for San Antonio to challenge them down to the final whistle and pick up an upset victory here at home.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Phoenix Suns – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

Oklahoma City is off to a somewhat decent start this season and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling with a quality performance here on Sunday night on the road in Phoenix. They come into this game as winners of five out of their first nine games on the season and they will be looking for their sixth victory of the season here on Sunday night against one of the top teams in the Western Conference this season. They will be looking to get right back into the win column after dropping their previous game against the Sacramento Kings during an NBA tournament game, which snapped a two game losing streak for the Thunder. Shae Gilgeous Alexander will be looking to continue leading the way for the team as he is averaging nearly 30 points per game throughout the early part of the season and for them to win this game, he will need to put up a similar performance here on Sunday night in Phoenix.

The Phoenix Suns come into this game, looking to get a victory, and remain healthy as several of their top stars have missed time throughout the early part of the regular season at one point or another. They came into this season with high expectations, and they are arguably the favorites in the Western Conference with a big three of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal. However, all three guys will need to remain healthy and consistent throughout the regular season for Phoenix to have any type of success this year. Due to the fact that not all of them have been able to remain healthy they are off to a pretty slow start this season, and they come into this game with a losing record through their first nine games of the year. They will be looking to pick up their fifth victory of the season here on Sunday night at home and that is exactly what I expect as I look for Phoenix to pull off a close win against Oklahoma City in this contest, as they look to bounce back from their loss to the Lakers on Friday night.

Phoenix Suns (-145)

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Golden State Warriors – 8:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

Minnesota is off to a pretty solid start this season and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Sunday night on the road against Golden State. They come into this game as winners of six out of their first eight games of the season, and they will be looking for their seventh victory of the year in one of the toughest environments in the league. Minnesota will be looking to head into Golden State’s arena and pick up a much-needed massive early season statement victory over the Warriors. Minnesota is hot at the moment as they come into this game on a five game winning streak and they have yet to lose a game in the month of November but this game will likely be the most challenging one to date. They will need to continue playing the way they’ve been playing over the last couple of weeks if they want to extend their winning streak to six games and pick up a solid victory on the road against Golden State here on Sunday.

The Golden State Warriors will be playing the second game of a back to back here on Sunday night at home after hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. They will be looking to wrap up this back to back on a positive note with a victory here at home over a hot Minnesota Timberwolves team, as Golden State looks to also continue their solid start to the season as well. Golden State is out to show the league that they are still here and everybody needs to be on notice as they look to add another NBA championship to their already incredible dynasty this season. They will be looking to pick up a solid victory over another one of the top teams in the Western Conference early on in the year at home, which is a place where they’ve had very much success over the last decade or so. I expect Golden State to play a quality game in this one and pick up a victory at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves here on Sunday night.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Los Angeles Lakers – 10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The first few weeks of the post Damian Lillard era have not gone how the Portland Trail Blazers would’ve hoped. They are off to a pretty sluggish start this season, and they will be looking to get things rolling in the right direction with a victory on the road in Los Angeles here on Sunday night against LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Portland has plenty of talent on the roster, and the future certainly does look bright but they will be riding a wave of disappointment throughout the next year, and potentially the next several years as well. They come into this game as losers of five out of their first eight games of the season, and they will be looking to pick up a massive momentum, boosting victory and their fourth victory of the season here on Sunday night in Los Angeles. They come into this game looking to break a two game losing streak as well after back-to-back losses to Memphis and Sacramento in their previous two games.

The Los Angeles Lakers come into this season with plenty of expectations, but they are off to a slow start throughout their first nine games. They are coming off of a solid victory over the Phoenix Suns in their previous contest, and they will be looking to pick up their fifth victory of the season here on Sunday night at home against Portland. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been leading the way, but both of them are dealing with injury issues throughout the early part of the regular season as well, which could be an issue for Los Angeles if that continues throughout the year. Regardless of that, they will still be looking to pick up a quality victory here on Sunday night at home against Portland to even up their record heading into the week. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Los Angeles Lakers to grab a comfortable victory over Portland here in this one and cover the spread in the process.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

LA Lakers -9.5 (-110)
