The Detroit Pistons (13-39, 6-19 Home) will look to halt their home losing streak Friday when they play host to the Charlotte Hornets (15-38, 8-22 Away), who are toiling in a road skid of their own.
Charlotte is playing the second of a back-to-back after dropping their last game against the Chicago Bulls 114-98 at United Center yesterday, their fourth loss in a row away from home. Terry Rozier was the scoring leader in the loss with 23 points. Mason Plumlee added 16 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.
The Hornets are 14th in the Eastern Conference. Detroit dropped their last game on Monday at American Airlines Center, falling to the Dallas Mavericks 111-105. Bojan Bogdanovic had 29 points in defeat, leading the team. The Pistons are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the final time this season. Detroit will be pursuing a season sweep against Charlotte after getting the win in the only earlier matchup 141-134 in overtime at Spectrum Center in December 2022.
Alec Burks led the Pistons with 27 points. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 28 points in the loss. Rozier is averaging 21.7 points per game to lead the Hornets in scoring this season. Rozier also has dished 5.0 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Plumlee is grabbing 9.8 rebounds.Bogdanovic (21.4 ppg) has powered the Pistons’ offense. Jalen Duren is pulling down 8.5 rebounds per game, and Killian Hayes is tallying 5.8 assists.
The Hornets are 7-1 in eight games at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit is looking to snap a five-game losing skid at home this season. Meanwhile, the Hornets are 2-5 this season when playing on consecutive nights and 2-3 with a rest disadvantage. The Pistons are 4-1 with a rest advantage.
