The Milwaukee Bucks (22-11, 8-8 Away) will try to slow down one of the league’s top shooting teams when they are on the road to face the Chicago Bulls (14-19, 7-8 Home) on Wednesday. Milwaukee was dominated by the Boston Celtics 139-118 at TD Garden on Sunday, their third loss in a row.
With 27 points, Giannis Antetokounmpo was the top scorer in the losing effort. Jrue Holiday added 23 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. The Bucks are trailing the Boston Celtics by 1.5 games in the Eastern Conference, currently sitting in second. Chicago lost their third straight home game on Monday at United Center, falling to the Houston Rockets 133-118.
DeMar DeRozan had 31 points and nine assists in the losing effort to lead the team. The Bulls are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference. It’s the last meeting of the season between the teams. Chicago will be aiming for a season sweep against Milwaukee after getting the win in the only previous meeting 118-113 at Fiserv Forum on November 23.
DeRozan led the Bulls with 36 points and eight assists. Antetokounmpo had 36 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in the loss.The Bucks have been led this season by Antetokounmpo, who is averaging 31.2 points per game, fourth-highest in the league. Antetokounmpo also has grabbed 11.2 rebounds per game, fifth-most in the league.
Meanwhile, Holiday is dishing 7.5 assists. DeRozan (26.0 ppg) and Zach LaVine (22.1) have supplied much of the Bulls’ offense. DeRozan also has recorded 5.0 assists per game. Nikola Vucevic has pulled down 10.2 rebounds per game. Shooting 48.3% from the field on the season, the Bulls are one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the NBA (5th).
The Bucks have found tremendous success in recent visits to United Center, winning nine of the last 10. Milwaukee is looking to avoid a fourth successive loss away from Fiserv Forum this season.
In the last 10 games, Milwaukee is 5-5 with an average margin of -2.7 (112.8-115.5). Chicago has also split the last 10 (5-5), allowing 120.2 points per game on average while scoring only 117.7 (-2.5 margin).
