Kevin Huerter was the standout player with 27 points and seven assists. The Kings are 14th in the Western Conference. Charlotte triumphed on Saturday at Spectrum Center, beating the Golden State Warriors 120-113 in overtime. PJ Washington had 31 points and seven rebounds to lead the team.
The Hornets are the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference. It’s the first meeting of the season between the teams. Sacramento and Charlotte split their matchups last season, winning one apiece. The Hornets came out on top in the last meeting 124-123 at Spectrum Center in December 2021. De’Aaron Fox led both teams in scoring with 31 points in defeat.
James Bouknight had 24 points and six rebounds for the Hornets. The Kings have been led early this season by Fox, who is averaging 27.8 points per game. Fox also has dished 5.6 assists per game. Meanwhile, Domantas Sabonis is grabbing 9.2 rebounds. Terry Rozier (23.5 ppg) and Gordon Hayward (20.0) have powered the Hornets’ offense.
Rozier also has tallied 8.5 assists per game, seventh-most in the NBA. Nick Richards has pulled down 7.5 rebounds per game. The Hornets and the Kings rank as two of the top scoring teams in the NBA, second and fourth in points per game, respectively. Charlotte is scoring 118.5 per game, while Sacramento is averaging 114.2. The Kings have come up short more often than not in recent games at Spectrum Center, losing seven of the last 10.
