Atlanta triumphed on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena, beating the Toronto Raptors 114-103. Trae Young had 29 points and nine assists, carrying the team. The Hawks are ninth in the Eastern Conference.It’s the final meeting of the season between the teams.
After taking the only earlier season meeting against Atlanta 106-98 at State Farm Arena in November 2022, their third straight head-to-head victory, Miami will be seeking a season sweep. Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 32 points. John Collins had 23 points in the losing effort. Adebayo and Tyler Herro, averaging 21.5 and 21.2 points per game, respectively, are leading the Heat in scoring this season.
Adebayo also has grabbed 10.1 rebounds per game, 10th-most in the NBA. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry is dishing 5.6 assists per game. Young (27.5 ppg) has supplied much of the Hawks’ offense. He has the ninth-best scoring average in the league. Young also has tallied 9.8 assists per game, second-most in the NBA.
Collins has averaged 7.9 rebounds per game. The Heat are holding opponents to 108.5 points per game, ranking as one of the top scoring defenses in the NBA (2nd). The Heat have come up short in recent trips to State Farm Arena, losing six of the last 10.
