The Washington Nationals (5-13) take one of the weakest offenses in MLB on the road to face the Minnesota Twins (11-8) at Target Field on Friday for the opener of a three-game Interleague series. The Nationals are playing their first of six games on the road.

They were just swept in two games against the Orioles, dropping the finale 4-0 on Wednesday at Nationals Park. Keibert Ruiz was 3 for 4. The Twins are back home for a 10-game homestand after finishing up a seven-game road trip (3-4).

They lost two of three against the Red Sox in their last series, dropping the finale 11-5 on Thursday at Fenway Park. Willi Castro went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored two runs and drove in two.

The teams are meeting for the first time since September 12, 2019, when the Nationals finished off a 2-1 series win with a 12-6 victory at Target Field.
