Kyle Hendricks (3-3, 2.81 ERA) is in line for the start for Chicago. The righty allowed three runs over seven innings in his last start, a 3-1 road defeat against the Phillies on Thursday. He was charged with the loss, giving up six hits while striking out four.
Hendricks is making his first appearance against the Brewers this season. Over four starts against the Brewers in 2022, Hendricks was 0-1 with a 6.11 ERA over 17.2 innings. He had 14 strikeouts and eight walks.
For Milwaukee, LHP Wade Miley (5-2, 3.02 ERA) will take the mound. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Cubs. In his last start on Wednesday, Miley took a no-decision on the road against the Mets. He threw four innings and gave up two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking three in the 5-2 win.
