ON THE MOUND
MacKenzie Gore (3-2, 3.29 ERA) is set to take the mound for Washington. The southpaw threw four scoreless innings in his last start, a 3-2 road defeat against the Mets on Friday. He gave up five hits while striking out three and walking two in the no-decision.
Right-hander Edward Cabrera (2-3, 5.35 ERA) will toe the rubber for Miami. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Nationals. Cabrera made two appearances against the Nationals in 2022, both starts, striking out seven and walking two over 9.2 innings (1-1, 3.72).
